When you press the button once again, it collapses. This is really useful when you get in to your car and need to operate it with one hand. We are now in Florida's rainy season. I bought this to keep in my car. So first, yes it's a great tough collapsible umbrella. It handled a torrential rain from car to supermarket with no issues. Button to open and close work great, feels powerful, but not hard to push. Then you push the handle in to finish closing it. Closes nicely, not sloppy. Good price for a very decent umbrella.

Ordered two. The purple one broke immediately. Mechanism inside shaft would not shrink back down. Unable to close and fully redeploy. Sent back to Amazon. They replaced it immediately. I hope the company honors their lifetime guarantee. I got a feeling. We'll see. The other works great.

The one push button open and close is my favorite feature of this umbrella. It is lightweight that makes it easy to carry around. Not six or eight but twelve ribs making it really sturdy. I just wish they can make a Smaller version and in different colors. Also, i find it hard to take off and put back the case cover. I hope they can improve the design of the carrying case. Other than that, it is a reliable good quality umbrella.

The media could not be loaded. I'm partial to the tiniest mini umbrella but this one is quite awesome too. Feels sturdy, rugged, and yet light weight. I really appreciated the one button, solid black, and smooth handle attributes. Kids may not handle the closing well but adults shouldn't have an issue. Two hand task for me. Oh, love the strap too! Only improvement would be more colors but I'm sure I'd be indecisive then. Black is best for matching everything! Don't forget the best warranty ever - nab it!
