Got this saw last year for Christmas, didn’t use it a lot, when I did use it worked good. I recently got into bees, and started making some beehives. A few days ago I was cutting a 2x4 into 3/8 strips not a big deal for a normal saw. It did good 3/4 of the way through the 2x4 and then all of a sudden I started to smell something burning I thought maybe it was the blade in the wood but it wasn’t. I didn’t see any smoke. I didn’t notice when I was cutting the 2x4 that it seem to lose a little bit of power and then it would come back up again. I wasn’t pushing the wood too fast I was just doing it slow and gradual in no hurry. I shut it off, felt of the motor. The motor didn’t feel hot. I finished the 2x4, shut the saw off and when I went to reuse it about a half hour later, it would start, there was power to the switch, but it wouldn’t turn on. Set an email to the company Gaomon, haven’t heard a peep out of them. Going to try calling them tomorrow. I’m guessing I’ll get the same response. I’m not so sure it’s the motor as I am the switch.     • This saw doesn't seem to be for heavy use.
I used this saw twice. The second time I was trying to rip a 2x4 and the motor began to smoke and eventually burned up. This saw would probably be used for very thin materials and probably used sparingly.
