  • Well-designed and works great
I like the simplicity, small size, and light weight of this cart. The build quality is excellent, and it’s stable as can be while pulling. I went over rocks, grass, and gravel, as well as up and down hills with it and it stayed put under my kayak. It has turned an exceedingly difficult task into one that requires little effort! My Vibe Yellowfin 100 kayak weighs about 57 lbs unloaded, and I’m sure this cart would easily handle one twice its weight plus gear. A bonus in my case is that it stows completely assembled into the rear scupper holes! If you don’t have that option or if your holes are too small, then it comes completely apart in seconds and can fit about anywhere. On that note one of my favorite things they have designed into the cart is the easy wheel attachment. There’s no pin to deal with or lose. It’s an easy button that releases the wheel, and press it down again to reattach it. The only thing I don’t think it would excel at would be deep and dry sand like we have on the North Carolina beaches. Packed sand would probably be okay. Update: Now that I've had a chance to use the cart on an actual outing, I have more to say. We went to a NC state park on a lake where I had to pull the cart over a large sandy beach to get to the water. Granted, it's not the kind of fine and dry sand that we have on the NC coast, but I did have reservations about how it would do. I'm pleased to report that it went over that sand like a champ. No problem whatsoever. I didn't even have the straps on tight, but the cart stayed right where it was supposed to be under the kayak. Now about the straps. I took them off completely. I'm keeping them in the kayak's dry hatch for in case we'll have to carry it down steps or something where we'd want it to lift up with the kayak, but for any case where it's being pulled over the ground I don't think the straps are necessary. It is much easier and faster to use the cart without the straps, and not once did it move an inch under the boat while pulling. Those foam covered bars fit snug into the deep grooves under the kayak, and they don't budge. I'll admit that depending on the bottom design of your kayak, your mileage may vary - so understand that there may be some risk if you remove the straps. In my particular kayak, I'm going strapless unless steps are involved. I've got 'em with me just in case. All in all, I couldn't be happier. A couple of people pointed and commented about it as we went by, and two people have asked me for the link to where to get one for themselves. ... show more

  • Cost and durability
Style: Folding
What a great product! Very durable and the fact it folds up saving space. Very easy to assemble and attach to my kayak. Cost was the main reason I purchased these wheels. Very surprised of the quality components and how sturdy it is. Would recommend others to buy this product.

  • Works great rolls over whatever
Style: Sus 304-8" PU Wheel
I slip it under and once it’s in the water I slide it out and stow it in my yak. It’s light and rolls over whatever I need it to. Stable on my set up

  • Wow. Where has this been during my kayak fishing career?
Style: Sus 304-heavy Duty
I own a rather heavy (95lb) Field & Stream ShadowCaster 12.3 kayak that is made even heavier when I use it with a trolling motor (batteries + motor). This kayak cart makes maneuvering this kayak around a breeze! If you get the kayak on the cart anywhere near the cart's balance point, lifting and pulling/pushing the kayak around literally becomes a one-finger task. And it doesn't even have to be precisely at the balance point. Assembly was easy. To figure out how wide I needed to configure the cart rails, I simply measured the distance between scupper holes because that's where the channels are on the bottom of the kayak, so you don't have to flip the kayak or even turn it on its side to measure. Once you have the rails the appropriate distance apart, it's simply a matter of lifting up on end of the kayak and sitting it on the cart. As long as you're not going down some rough trail, you don't even have to strap the kayak on the cart, especially if you have a heavy kayak like I do because the weight alone will keep the kayak in place on the cart. I can't really vouch for durability, especially not for rust resistance. To me it looks like rust might eventually be a problem with the materials they used, but until that does become a problem I plan on using the heck out of this cart and really enjoying it. I know other reviews complained about the smaller wheel diameter, but I don't plan on trying to haul my big, heavy kayak over tree roots, etc., so the smaller diameter wheels are fine for me. They should definitely do fine in sand, mud, etc. because of how wide they are. Basically, you're getting a discount version of the Wilderness Systems kayak cart for a fraction of the price and probably 85-90% of the same functionality. I'm very pleased. I only wish this was available years ago because I would've used it on all three kayaks I've owned, as well as my canoe. ... show more

  • This one works! The others are a waste of your money.
Style: Sus 304-heavy Duty
I tried 2 other kayak/canoe carts/dollies. The first had great reviews, but will never get a good one from me. The second looked like the quality of this unit, but was made of plastic at the joints. It failed after the 2nd use. This one has welded joints at the rails. This one works! It is strong. It is adjustable. I have used it 3 times with both kayaks and a canoe, and it works! We hauled our kayaks and our canoe uphill from the lake over rocks, grass, and dirt. They didn't move on the rails one bit. This is the one to buy. Stop looking at the others. You will not be disappointed. ... show more
