I just received my waist trainer. I am a female I wear 2X to 3X and women’s tops. in pants I range anywhere from 20 to 22. My midsection is fairly round. I usually have a hard time finding a waist trainer for women that is designed for women. They usually tend to be extremely small and not true to size. so I chose this male one. I ordered the 5X and without the extension it would not have fit, so I am glad I listen to another review where it said to size down and that the extension would make up for the extra space definitely did , follow the sizing chart. I’ve only had this for a few hours. I think it’s very good quality. It’s nice and thick it’s not over stretchy, the hooks feel sturdy, It does hold you in ,it does fit. It goes about mid hip a few inches below the belly button not all the way down to the pelvic area but that’s fine for me , because I’m 5’,2”, I could pull it down more but it’s fine. I will post a review later if it starts to deteriorate or break down but so far I think it’s good quality ... show more

So, first, you really do need to reference size chart in the images to find your size. It has nothing to do with your american pants sizing. I wear 35” pants (not jeans) at 220lbs, 5’10”. The medium size is right for me, though I wear it (after some stretching) on the first column (most restricted) of hooks. It comes with an extender for an additional three columns of hooks which I’ve discarded now - I’d be size small using it! Some pointers: - it will stretch a bit on your first donning. subsequently is easier to get into. - the hooks are very durable. no worries there. - the material is excellent, and comfortable. - there are 16 hooks and it takes two full minutes for me to get it on. - its a compression garment so you will likely be stretching each hook into place, with nimble fingers. - i find i can wear it with hooks on the left, or right, allowing more breathing space at bottom, or top respectively. - wear a t-shirt over it or the hooks will show. - it gets quite sweaty on hot days. - of course if you wear it too tight, its hard to breath and you get a muffin top on your back. Me likey: + Good body shaper for events or everyday use + It fastens better, so it moves less + Very well built + Works in a pinch + Works better than other body shapers I’ve tried Me no likey: - No, you won’t lose weight with this - After extended use, the rubber stretches, so they must be replaced. - Fastening it takes some getting used to - Pricey if you keep replacing them I really like these body shapers, because they tend to work better than others I’ve tried. I have a hernia that cannot be repaired anytime soon, so I use it for much needed support. Fastening it takes some getting used to, but after a few uses, you’ll have it down. This has a good fit and doesn’t move around nearly as much as other shapers. You won’t lose weight with these though. It’s not for weight loss, it’s to hide a midnight Twinkie habit. Perhaps you could lose a drop or two of water weight if worn during a workout, but otherwise, no. After using it for awhile, the rubber stretches and it will never return to form, so you’ll need to replace it from time to time. I wear it regularly, and replace it 1-2 times a year. It can get pricey if you replace them often. Still, I’d wear these before other shapers; I just think it does the job better. ... show more

If you are a big man with a large belly and waist area, and want to look a little bit slimmer for a short period of time, look no further. This is the one you want. If your waistband size is larger than 40 inches, I would recommend getting the 6X size. Keep in mind it is not a American size, but closer to Asian sizes, so keep that in mind. If your waistband size is larger than 50 inches, you will need the included extender. At maximum, this would accommodate up to a 52 inch waistband. If you are larger than that, this will not fit you. At best, this will take off approximately an inch off your waist size, if applied properly. So it's no miracle worker, but if you need to wear it for a short period of time for a special occasion, this may work for you. Just my two cents. ... show more

Trust the size chart but be honest with yourself. When I first got mine, even with the extension piece in place, there was like a 10" gap. I was like "this will never fit". But it does and will provide the support you are looking for. It has to be that tight. You just grab the ends, pull outward a bit instead of trying to pull around yourself, then pull it together and start to hook the loops. The first time was a pain to get hooked, but after that it goes on fine because I learned how to do it. It's comfortable and does not make me sweat. Make sure you measure around your love handles and above the navel. Mine was 45.5 inches. I purchased the 3X and it fits on the first row of clips without the extender. I could have purchased the 2X and used the extender. If the corset works and I progress to the third row of clips, I may have to get the 2X if I have more inches to lose. ... show more
