  • .44 DE compatible
Color: Black
Been using this regularly every weekend for more than a year and I’m loving it. If you are wondering about the size of the main compartment, let me tell you that I usually carry a: 1. Tanfloglio stock 2 xtream (that’s a big gun, close like a cz shadow) 2. Glock 17 with a red dot on it (not mos but with an adaptor plate which makes the red dot sit even higher) 3. A 4” Taurus tracker 357 revolver 4. And yes…a .44 desert eagle (this is the maximum length for a gun in this bag without modifying it). Helps me have everything I need in only one bag, no need to carry anything else. Lots of pockets to correctly organize you stuff. Very comfortable to wear even with 4 guns + ammo and other stuff. Seams and zips are high quality. The only backside I found is that when using it on tournaments, you need to carry the whole bag to the safety area to holster and unholster your equipment, but that nothing compares for what I got in return in terms of organizing my stuff. Can’t be happier! I highly recommend this bag for any shooting enthusiastic. ... show more

  • fantastic but not perfect

The GPS handgunner backpack is well made and has many advantages. You can carry a LOT of stuff with this bad boy. It has well built stitching like you would find with big name brands like Oakley and can definitely handle some weight, be warned though, the pack alone is pretty heavy itself. Each pocket is labeled with a small picture patch for the corresponding item that pocket was intended to hold, like a little picture of a stapler and a picture of binoculars etc...This is nice for finding things quick and staying organized. However, the compartment for the magazines on either side of the pack does not have a picture patch, which I find odd given all the others. My particular pack did not come with the little "key compartments" as seen in the picture in the top open compartment(didn't effect me at all though). The hand gun compartment is spacious when the foam padding is removed and the space could conceivably be used for a(very) small cooler if you wanted to just go hiking or on a picnic with someone. Really you could repurpose all the pockets for some type of gear/camping solution like bird watching or something. Even has a built in rain shield that wraps around the entire pack to keep your gear good and dry(haven't tested yet but it seems water resistant and feels like a wind breaker like material). ***The big downside of this pack is that the overall depth of the handgun slot where the foam board is located, can really only hold 5 inch barreled guns or smaller, 6 inch max and that's pushing it. Any larger and its poking you in the back. I shoot many different calibers and sizes so its not that big of a draw back for me, but if I want to takeout the six and seven inch barreled handguns I can either takeout the foam slot organizer and use gunrugs to place the guns in horizontally and stack them. Or I can cram them in with the foam board and just deal with the discomfort. All and all this pack is made for a day trip with your short barreled guns and shooting gear. if you want to make it a camping with shooting gear solution, then I recommend that short barrels be carried only and that your companions carry the rest of the camping gear. This pack fully loaded, however convenient; can become extremely heavy on long walks let alone a hiking journey, especially with large calibers and lots a heavy ammunition. A person of small stature would not enjoy this pack at all, and I would recommend a holstered sidearm solution for those carrying an assortment of barrel lengths just to keep the comfort level at a maximum. **Also, carrying lots of ammo is a bit of a stretch in some cases. You will have to sacrifice the top center compartment, labeled for ear muffs(so if you prefer those, you'll have to tie them to your belt or something) for the ammo and use earbuds as your primary hearing protection. There's really no place for more than say 4- five hundred round bricks of .22 cal. or maybe a little less than five hundred rounds of .45 cal.(it can actually hold lots more but I always consider weight because ammo is very heavy). The amount is fantastic for just a couple of shooters though, maybe too much because of the weight you'd be carrying at that point. If your carrying for say- 4 or 5 shooters; people may have to carry their own ammunition especially if its a shooting trip and there isn't a readily available external source like there would be at your average consumer range. This back pack is a five star Item for sure but since I really do prefer my longer barrels it does fall short in that department. I would recommend this to any range goer and all around shooter. A little advise to those of you trying to utilize this particular type of gun storage for just a couple of guns and a huge amount of ammunition... you can purchase a separate "slotted" foam board and simply cut it in half and utilize the extra space in the gun section for another 15 lbs or more of ammo. And remember, I stressed the weight in this review because this thing can hold a lot of stuff when packed tight and can become quite the burden. I regularly shoot at a large range and just walking from one end to the other with a full load for 3 or more people, this thing weighs between 20 and 30 pounds. So if your going to shoot all day, lugging the weight will take its toll. Although the back pack style is better than a sling for sure, its still heavy. ... show more

  • Tons of space! Great bag!
Color: Black
I bought this bag on the recommendation of a friend. After I realized that I've bought purses for WAY more than this, I dove right in. Upon opening the box, the bag didnt really look like much. After loading it up, I'm in love! All (almost) of the pockets are labeled with little pictures so even the most disorganized person can figure out where things are very easily. I dont even know where to start on the storage. I guess the best place to start is the main reason for the bag...pistols. I decided to see how many I could fit. 7. The main compartment holds 4 in the provided foam mold. I still had room, so I threw in a case underneath. I may have put a couple in the side compartments, and might even sacrifice my bino pocket for another one or two (so, total: 9, easy). There is plenty of room for mags as well. Both side pockets have 6 double stack sleeves; the pockets are big enough that you can put more in there if you need to. There is plenty of room to store range supplies and cleaning/tool items. Also included is a dump cup that is velcro'd into the pocket. The top (ears) provides a large open space. It can easily fit 8-50ct ammo boxes across the bottom, more on top of that AND still fit my ears! There are velcro loops on the outside for targets. Most of the compartments can be easily opened with one hand, no need to unzip both from the center. The pistol compartment has a lockable zipper (kinda wish the mag compartments had that too). All of the main compartments are padded, padding between mags and pocket behind it on both sides. The sides of the center section are lined with a hard component that provides structure and protection. It also comes with an added bonus of a raincoat. This told me that these guys thought out their product. The eyes and plugs pockets are lined with a soft, I assume anti-scratch, material with a flap with hook and loop closure. So, after putting all of this stuff in it, I picked it up. The padded straps are comfy and secure. I'm comfortable carrying it fully loaded up to 50 pounds. The section at the top between the straps is not very comfortable. It digs into the back of my neck unless I bend over. This might not be a problem for someone taller than i am (5'7"). My only complaint(s) about this bag is that the pocket for eyes is a little small and my glasses dont fit. But no worries, they fit outside of the pocket no problem. I think the straps need a different design to be more comfortable on my neck. (P.S. a total want, not a negative by any means...more color options.) ... show more
