I wore out the Velcro in my old barbell pad, and was on the lookout for a new one. I saw this one from G4Free, and decided to try it out. It's my first product from this brand, and so far it's pretty good. The pad hooks over my Olympic barbell snugly. Unlike my previous pad, I have to push this one more to get it over the bar, because it has very little extra room. But the fact that it has no extra room also means it's tight and does not move around -- something my old one did. The Velcro closes very tightly with this pad, so tightly that it takes quite a bit of effort to open it. But again, this also means it's secure during use. It's annoying -- and dangerous -- to have a barbell pad that shifts around or opens up during exercises! The padding is comfortable for me when doing heavy squats and hip thrusts. The pad stays in place throughout the exercises. The pad has a loop of material on the side. I think it's there as a way to hang this up, but the material kept getting inside the Velcro. I carefully cut it off. This is a very good barbell pad. I recommend it.

This is my first barbell pad, so I don't have anything to compare it to--but, I love the way this pad fits securely and doesn't slip when using. My biggest worry was that it would make the bar awkward to use--but, it doesn't and It is working great for squats.

Ordered it to use on my olympic bar when doing squats and lunges, or any exercises requiring resting the bar behind you. Nothing to complain about - it is nicely padded yet feels sturdy and well made. Fits my olympic size bar perfectly and easy to put on and remove as needed. So far it held up really well. Good value for the money and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I got this for my son to use to soften the bar on his back as he begins training with barbell squats. He assured me it is many times better than the ducktaped towel we were using before this purchase. I have to agree as well, though I don't use it for squats since my back muscles create a nice natural cradle. However, I DO love to use it for hip thrusts. It creates just enough cushion and is easier in setup than lining up a foam pad that moves around a bit with the reps.

The media could not be loaded. Instead of a standard Olympic bar (too long), I use the Olympic EZ curl bar for different types of workout. I use it for hip thrust particularly. I think barbell pads is a must when doing hip thrust workout especially using EZ curl bar because the zig zag part of the bar will dig on your hip. I have used a different brand barbell pads but it would open up and exposed the bar, then I would have to adjust constantly which was frustrating and almost ruins the workout. I really like this one because it has built in velcro on both sides closing opposites way. It’s perfect for Olympic bar and EZ curl bar. Some likes: * Great padding * Lightweight * Great velcro placement and size * Dotted grips inside * Great quality, it seems like it will last a long time. * Comes with a bag to store and/or carry. * Pretty color This has help intensified my workout, as well as making it enjoyable. I can focus on my workout rather than the pain on my pelvic.

I highly recommend this product. It is very comfortable, especially for squats and hip thrusts exercises. The one we previously had at my gym would constantly move when in use and not stay in place. It also did not have Velcro to keep it secure. This one does not rotate easily, which is good and what you want during lifting. I, myself, have done 5 bodybuilding competitions, and I have been a personal trainer for 10 years, and I love this product. I have also received compliments on it from other people at the gym, who are using this product as well. The main validation I am getting is that they are saying it feels really comfortable. Even the elderly are telling me this. And one elderly person told me he is going to buy another one of this exact product because he likes it so much. I think it is a very good product for the price.

I won't lie, I use a pad when I squat. I'm old and the weight is enough pain, but not all pads are the same and I was on the lookout for a better one for awhile because my existing one was just a C, with a barely closing notch in it. Multiple times it had slipped leaving the barbell on me, or partially askew and just was a hassle. The moment I saw this one I knew it would be better but I really had no idea. The reason I bought it was that it has closing velcro straps that wrap tightly around the barbell so that it will not slip. It turned out to actually be better than just that. It is noticeably denser, in spite of being slightly slimmer in circumference. The groove is narrower, and the straps alternate directions so it's even more secure. The material within the slot itself, also has extra grip relative to the smooth exterior. It can't make squats easier, but this really solved a problem for me and I can't recommend it enough.
