  • Confirmed compatible for Dell Optiplex 390 MT
After some searching I read in many different forums that this RAM was compatible with the Dell Optiplex 390 desktops which on paper support up to 8GB of RAM on the latest A14 BIOS. I got these this week. Took out the old RAM, put in both sticks and powered on the PC. Booted up without any errors and recognized by Windows. I got the PC when I bought a used car and the owner left it in the trunk and told me to keep it or throw it away. I decided to keep it in order to put my gaming PC for VR in the living room and use this one to stream via Steam Link to my bedroom if I wanted do. So far it's only been 5 days but is has been very sable with no issues. ... show more

  • Works as described by the manufacturer, helped me upgrade an old Dell Optiplex 390
I put this G.Skill 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz CL11 NT Series Desktop ram in an old Dell Optiplex 390 with the last bios they put out for it (A14). I also dropped an Intel Xeon E3-1270 SR00N 3.40GHz (3.80 Intel Turbo boost) 8MB cache 4-Core 8-Thread processor paired with a Wifi 6 (802.11ax) wireless router and an Asus Wifi 6 pci card in it, Windows 11 runs extremely quickly now. Webpage load times are almost instantaneous. Not to bad for an old (circa 2011) box that can be purchased all day long from an online auction site for less than $60.00. The SSD drive helps out a bunch as well. ... show more
