In general the dog playpen is a very nice product. I bought it and everything, except one item is great. The only problem that I have with it is in the door openings. My new puppy runs everywhere including into and out of the playpen. When the door is open it has two steel extensions that protrude from the end of the door to latch at door jambs. They stick straight out and with my puppy running so fast if the door is slightly adjair as can easily happen the protrusion can be sticking out in the lane that the puppy is running. It seems this spear like object is right in elevation with my puppys face, eyes, mouth. It scares me that she could be running along and run face first into this item. It could easily poker her eye out. My suggestion would be to make a latch at the top of the door to the hinge side of the door jamb to latch the door open so it will not swing open unless it is unlatched. This has me so nervous I've built something to hold the door fully open but still worry as it requires an effort to attach which is not so automatic as a latch in the open position. I feel this could be fixed very easily. I looked thru the bag provided and does not seem to have anything to protect from puncture from this spear like object. The item sticks out from the end of the door at least 1 inch so if the puppy was running and poked her eye it would not be good. Please provide a fix for this flaw. ... show more

For whatever reason, barely any articles about new dog supplies to get ever mentioned this playpen. Luckily while looking at their other recommendations (MidWest's, Iris's, Frisco's, and Amazon Basic's) I saw the listing for this pen. I decided to buy it because it was the only product on Amazon I've ever seen have all 5 stars, and I'm so glad I did! The playpen itself is very nice (each set of bars is very light to assemble, but once together are definitely heavy enough to stay on the ground without needing extra support or being slid around by a toy breed which is my dog's size). It was actually so much easier assembling this than my dogs collapsible crate. What I really love about this crate is the fact that my order came with a pair of gloves to keep my hands from being injured or sore from assembly. That's was such a great packaging decision and I now will keep this brand in mind whenever I'm looking for anything else. I didn't need the gloves for assembling the pen, but it really helped me with assembling my dog's crate I got from Target! ... show more

The gate came in paneled pieces and was very easy to put together. I appreciate the gloves that came with the gate, but not sure why they were included? I like that the gate can be expanded or contracted to fit whatever size you need. Seems well constructed, sturdy and heavy enough to stay in place. The gate has two latches top and bottom and (for my own convenience), taped the bottom in an unlatched position so that I didn’t have to unlatch both to walk through. Ease of assembly and shape configuration. I rescued a dog who delivered six precious puppies. Having no experience with raising puppies I began my search for a “dog playpen”, knowing I could not have them running all over the house. This product had wonderful useful reviews and it has been perfect. I am constantly entering the pen to attend to some need and the gate works well. Puppies are 4 weeks old and I got this put up just in time to confine them. Product is well constructed, smooth surface with no area where they could injure themselves. All in all great product. I purchased this playpen for one reason... safety, specifically my safety, I have the other puppy playpens that have a door but you step over a 6 inch fence to walk out the door, my sister has the same puppy playpens that I have, she was taking food and water bowls out of the gate of her playpen, caught her toe in the fence and landed on the other side of the playpen on her knee, her kneecap was broke in half, literally, because of that step over feature of a puppy pen gate, she had 2 surgeries and 8 months of rehab and she still doesn't walk right. That wasn't going to happen to me, the best reason to buy this playpen is the safety feature of the gate, you just walk right through. Absolutely love this playpen for my mini-schnauzer puppy! I researched a LOT of playpens on Amazon, and finally settled on this one. A little pricey but well worth it. Very sturdy, extremely easy to assemble with no tools, and no sharp edges to injure a curious puppy. Made for inside the house. i bought the one with 8 panels so there was room for her crate-- which my vet suggested. I put this in my office so my puppy can see me, but i can work. It gives her more room than just the crate. She naps in her crate and plays with toys in the rest of the playpen. Excellent purchase! ... show more

I have a cat that is mean to my old cat and got this pen to keep her corralled and my old cat safe. It is working out great! Love the rubber plugs on the bottoms of the panels. The playpen was just what we needed and does the job keeping our puppy in check. While I did give the product a 5-star rating there is one thing that concerns me and that is the latch for the door. You can see from the picture attached that the catch itself is long, small, and could easily put out an eye on the puppy if the door is left open. This problem could easily be fix by welding on a piece (ball configuration) at the end of the catch. Just a thought. ... show more
