This was Awsome!!!
Format: Kindle
This is an amazing story. The storyline was great, the characters believable. A strong, believable lead female . A hero with bad past, but you fall in love with him anyways because of his struggles plus a dragon!!!! There's action, drama, and I hope in future books a slow, burn to hot steam!!! It's a clean read, but they are just figuring each other out. Which makes this perfect to me. I hate a rushed storyline that put characters together to fast. This is truly believable. I highly recommend & I'm definitely reading the next installment ... show more

You'll enjoy this paranormal immersion. Throughout the plot is she opening, thoughtful and caring. The lead character has strength, character and a fine sense of moral. Quite endearing. I'm sure all readers WILL love this great read. You'll get so caught up in the fast pace, twists and turns of the adventure it's unputdownable. PottsvillePA_TUE; 03082022. Thank you E. L. Original. One of the Best Dragon Fantasy Adventures Out There
Format: Kindle
I rarely give out reviews but this book exceeded my expectations. The characters were well fleshed out. Intrictae world-building and an unwavering FMC and MC that you would root for. I loved Rush’s conflict and his tenacity. Cora is an ideal but relatable character. She inspires greatness in the reader—as well as the supporting characters in this series. I loved that the author paced the story well. I can tell she took her time to tell each character’s story and deliver the beautiful arcs with so much satisfaction. The romance was a slow build but it was well paced, contrary to the plethora of insta-love common in books these days. What a rollercoaster ride! On the edge of my proverbial seat i laughed, cried and swooned. One of my surprisingly favorite reads. Definitely in my for keeps pile. ... show more

Great book!
Format: Kindle
I loved this book mostly because I really liked the main character Cora more than anything. I liked the pace of the book a lot happened but it didn't feel too rushed and even the parts where not a lot of action was happening didn't feel slow or boring. I love fantasy books and this one had plenty of familiar elements but was still a nice original and interesting story to read. I personally am always looking for good clean books and I would say this one is fairly decent. There is some language and some adult conversation. No sex scenes. I like that partly cause I could wholly do without those and partly because with some books the author just doesn't take enough time to develop the characters and relationship. Thankfully that is not the case here. Also be forewarned this is the first book in a series. So don't be like me always check cause the next book may not be out yet. It was a great start to a series though. ... show more

It did not disappoint
Format: Kindle
Happy Siiigghhhh. It was so good. Loved the characters, so deep and their character development was deliberate and concise. The heroine was straight up strong and feisty, but not in a annoying I’m a woman I’m better than any man kind of way. She was written with pride as well as respect and it showed. The hero was a slow burn that you longed to read about in each page and you love the dragon even more. There is torture, but it’s an easy skim if you want to read only the dialogue because it is intense. But that should NOT keep you from the story. This was a very refreshing read and ends on a good cliffhanger, not a bad one. Please give it a try! ... show more

Full series review.
Format: Kindle
This is my first time reading this author. I am grateful I found this series when it was complete because I could not put it down. The world building was great. I liked how the author built the background of the current events. The take on dragons, elves, dwarves, and men was slightly different from the normal. That is not what makes this book memorable to me though. What makes this book memorable are the characters. The characters if this series are written in a phenomenal way. There are many who make an impact and you get to know each character personally. Even the main dragons and their personalities. I especially enjoyed watching how Cora grew and came into her own. The characters are written in such a way that you become emotionally invested in them. You can feel their anger, pain, joy, and love. Yet at the same time you get to experience their growth as people. How they learn forgiveness and strive for redemption. You cheer on the good guys not just because you want good to overcome evil but because some of them have suffered so much heart ache they deserve happiness. I didn't give this book 5 stars because of the writing style. While I have come to adore E.L. Todd's imagination the actual execution could have been better. Some author's add too much filler. This series doesn't seem to have enough. The traditions from scene to scene seemed to jump. It's wasn't smooth. Some chapters seemed to end in a cut off way. Kind of like the editor or author wanted to minimize the length and just chopped the end of chapters off. This led to some slight confusion, in places, of who was talking or where they were at when the next paragraph or chapter started. Furthermore, when the dwarves came into play I don't think enough attention was donated to them. The dragons, elves, and men received extensive attention and explanation of their part in this world but not the dwarves. I can't even remember if the author mentions what happens to them after the second great war in book 4. That left the story feeling incomplete in a way. There are questions left unanswered about the world itself. Like how did the wasteland get the way it was. Why were there creatures there that no one knew about and how did it get so desolate? The dragons should know about everything concerning that land mass if they have been there for thousands of years. Another disconcerting thing is the length of time it took to travel between places. In book one it would take weeks to get from point A to point B. In the next book it would take less time to get to the same places even though they were on still on foot. By book 3 and 4 it seemed as if the attention to detail was lacking compare to books 1 and 2. Small things seemed to be forgotten. All in all I give this book 4 stars for the story and the authors ability to emotionally connect the reader to the characters. ... show more

Worthwhile.
Format: Kindle
. I don't normally read dragon fantasy. I don't recognise the author and suspect she is fairly new to her trade. The story is a tiny bit rough around the edges in places but I find that forgivable, for the story held my interest until the end, which is really in its favor. What is rough but forgivable? An example would be a deer is harvested for food at one point is skinned and then gutted. Deer are gutted, then skinned. Like I said, entirely forgivable, as the author probably has never hunted, and besides, it is her world, not mine. And it doesn't effect the story, really.Things of this sort happenned a couple times, but I could not deduct a star for that, because for one, it really is irrelevant to experiencing her world, for two, I really do suspect it is early in the author's career, and I think the minor editing details will naturally improve with the next books, and three, I enjoyed the story and believe the author should be encouraged to write more. I did pre-order her next book, for what it's worth. ... show more

Good! 3.5 Stars!
Format: Kindle
The writer's style is different than what I am used to. This is the first time I am reading E. L. Todd's works so it is taking time to adjust. The storyline is quite interesting and the book gets really INTENSE! I didn't imagine it going where it did and I applaud the bravery. It was a page turner by the end for certain! >^..^< ... show more
