1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Find out what happens after Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in the first book of the hit series that’s told from the perspective of Sally, the determined rag doll and love of Jack Skellington! And don’t miss the sequel, Hour of the Pumpkin Queen, available now! Jack and Sally are “truly meant to be” . . . or are they? Following a whirlwind courtship with her true love, Jack Skellington, Sally the rag doll has officially stepped into the role of Pumpkin Queen. But while she adores Jack with every inch of her fabric seams, she can’t quite say the same for her new job. Cast into the spotlight and tasked with all sorts of royal duties, she starts to wonder if all she’s done is trade her captivity under Dr. Finkelstein for a different cage. Then, while exploring the Hinterlands beyond the holiday doors, Sally stumbles upon a long-hidden entrance to another ancient realm called Dream Town—and unknowingly sets a chain of sinister events into motion. Before she knows it, both her future as Pumpkin Queen and the future of Halloween Town itself have been thrust into jeopardy. Can Sally discover what it means to be true to herself and save the town she’s learned to call home? Or will her future turn into her worst . . . well, nightmare? Read more

  • Just what I wanted/needed
Format: Paperback
Outstanding writing paired with a heart-felt story. I found this book just in time, before September. Even in August, I needed something that left me feeling young and safe. This book accomplished both of those things for me. Sally reminded me a lot of myself, someone too afraid to lead, before making a mistake that forces her to face her fears inevitably. Character development is well-planned and achieved. Pacing and rhythm held my attention for hours at a time. Kids and adults alike will love this story. ... show more

  • Now is the time for Sally to tell her side of the story! Loved this!
Format: Hardcover
Picks up right where Tim Burtons' "The Nightmare Before Christmas" ended....Totally fun read! Ernshaw was 100% correct here with this one. Never having read anything by this author, 2 years ago, I had purchased this on the release date, and I just picked it up last week for a quick Summer time read.....I will most definitely be reading this every couple years when I want to go back to Halloween Town! Ernshaw takes you back to the world of these beloved, and very strange characters that the mind of Tim Burton created YEARS ago, and makes you RELIVE them in vivid imagery, colors and a story that just perfect.....and this time it is all Sallys! Well, Zero their dog is along for the ride. After getting married; Sally and Jack go on a well deserved but very SHORT (only overnight actually) so called Honeymoon. When Sally and Zero go for a walk to relieve some stress before the hustle and bustle of prepping for Halloween, they come back to find Jack asleep in the middle of the day. Upon NOT being able to wake him, Sally gets very nervous and goes to ask for help from the Mayor to see if he can wake him....that is when she realizes the ENTIRE town is in the deepest of sleep! And nobody is responding! What is going on? Is she the only one left alive? And why was the Halloween Town tree door left open? Sally must go out and she MUST find what is causing this and see if she can take her new position of HalloweenTown's Queen and put it to use. This book is a little over 300 pages, but such a quick read if you are a fan of these characters, and even if you do NOT know who they are at all, you are soon to meet them and ALL their friends and town folk. And so SO many of these we only seen in little Cameo Roles in the Disney classic movie! Highly recommended to ANY and all Disney fans who have grown to LOVE Jack and Sally Skellington. I would have rounded this to a full 5 had it been JUST a little bit creepy for the spooky season. 4 Pumpkin Screams ... show more
