Wow it looks great once it’s all put together but assembling by yourself is NOT easy. I got through more than half before I needed some help lining the big pieces up with the holes. Most of the wooden pegs they give you will snap with the slightest wrong movement. Luckily all those pieces get screwed in anyways so it’s still sturdy. Lastly, they give you less than half an inch screws to screw in the fireplace & the fireplace is sitting about a foot or more deep. It’s nearly impossible to get your hand where they want the screws to go. It was a challenge & I ended up getting only 2 in each side instead of the 6 total. Overall it looks great once assembled. The media could not be loaded. TLDR- 2 hours to build solo. Ok heat, sturdy, no stickers to hide bolts/screws, flame is only orange, doesn't change. No temp control. So first of all, the heat this produces is the same as a small space heater from shoprite. It's not going to heat a whole room. The glass covering the fake flames and the sides and top all stay cold to the touch. There's only the vent that gets hot. There are only 2 buttons, no remote or temp control. One for flame on and one for heat on. The heat works without the flame being on. (And honestly I think I'll cover the flame glass with a frosted decal or something when not in use.) The flame is only orange in color and doesn't change. The logs don't pulse like burning embers and the flame effect is fine but not amazing. I built this alone in 2ish hours. Instructions are simple to follow. There are no stickers to cover or camouflage the bolts used. So unless you stock the shelves full, you'll see them. A drill might splinter the wood. Beware. The actual fireplace piece comes assembled and you just screw it into the back. There isn't a lot of room so big man hands will probably have difficulty. Honestly the hardest part was that it was delivered in my driveway and was too heavy to move. So I unpacked it outside and brought pieces in separately. I like this bc when it's not a heater, it's still used. I was going to get a mantel electric fireplace but happy I got this one instead. ... show more

Read the directions and it’s simple to assemble. I added wood glue to the edges where the pieces came together. It wasn’t tall enough, so I bought $50 Lack shelf from IKEA and placed it on top. Make sure you use a layer of the anti slip liner for safety. I think I’ll add doors to the tall openings.

If you are new to product assembly you will definitely need someone who has some experience so they can help with the picture only instructions. Product arrived earlier than expected. I like the fact that the fireplace can be used without the heater which makes for a nice look. Do not like the fact that the heater has two setting, on and off. The fan is very weak as it doesn't really warm my living room. Ran the heater all night and still walked into a cold living room the next morning. Might be better suited for a room that isn't open but had a door to keep the heat in. Bought so that I didn't have to run my central unit as much as it's just me in the home. If you are not needing a TV stand save over $100 and just buy a space heater. If you are, and it's for a living room, spend another $30 to $50 and get one with a better fireplace insert. Going to look into just getting a different fireplace for my unit, will still be cheaper than running my unit this time of year. ... show more

I bought this for our guest room. It was easy to put together. I did it alone without any help. Took me about an hour. I still need to add the 2 shelves. It looks great and it heats up a room pretty well. You can have the electric fire on with or without heat.
