i thought that I was going to have to remove the rope from Mouse's scratching post & glue on new rope, but I found this & decided to try it. I did have to remove enough rope to fit it, but Mouse had made that easy. Nice wide & strong Velcro. This XL scratching post cover looks good & feels sturdy.

This scratching post cover works amazingly. I have purchased this 3 times already and will continue to repurchase. My cat doesn’t like scratching sisal rope but loves carpet. I found this as an alternative and bought the XL to fit his big scratching post. He loves it and scratches it every day. After a few months when it’s completely shredded and falling apart, I replace it and he is very happy. Please keep the price low so I can keep buying for my boy. :) ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was so excited to find this product. I had a similar wrap around sisal type mat from IKEA that lasted for years. It finally wore out and I hadn’t been able to find a replacement. I bought this carpet version and it arrived Sept 3rd. It is now Nov 5th and the mat is completely worn out and full of holes. The cats obviously loved it (I can unfortunately say their claws are sharper than ever). 3 months seems a little short of a life for this product. To be honest if I can’t find anything else I may buy it again anyway though. The price is right, you just get what you pay for and I hate throwing things to the landfill. I bought this to cover the worn looking rope on my cat's scratching post. But immediately after I put it on, my cat tried it out and it looked worn with less than one day of use. It was also barely long enough to fit around the post on my cat tree. I wouldn't buy it again.

I have a larger version of this for the corner of my couch that is secured there by fabric pins and it's held up great, so I bought these to cover the bigger posts my cat absolutely destroyed. I had cut off the hanging fabric and cardboard but I think it would have been better if I'd left the excess on to fill up the space. The posts were shorter than the fabric pieces, so I folded the cover down and that actually worked very well. The velcro continues to hold well and keep the posts covered. My cat did seem to think the change of carpet type a bit odd for a bit, but she now uses the new covers freely. You can see the difference between the carpet types in the pics: The new covers are 'hard' and will last much longer. The original is thin and soft and really took a beating quickly. I'm very pleased with this solution and do recommend this brand of cat wrap around furniture/post cover. It works and holds! It stands up well to abuse. My cat likes it and I like her using it rather than the furniture. Highly recommended! ... show more

Furhaven Wrap Around Scratching Post Cover - Tiger Tough Carpet Scratch Mat - Gray, Extra Large/XL My cat was demolishing the carpet on her cat tree, to the point that I think she was accidentally ingesting carpet tufts. So I bought this product to cover and renew the post. It isn’t a perfect fit, but it does cover all of where she scratches, so…success! It’s a different texture, but I rubbed in a little catnip, and she took right to it. Update: This evening I found tufts of cat tree carpet all over the house carpet, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place. It took her a couple years to demolish regular carpet, like you'd put in your house. This? Maybe a week. Two tops. Back to square one. If your cat has any kind of claws at all, go for something heavier than this. ... show more

I was looking for replacements for my current posts. I wanted to steer clear of anything with twine. I wasn't fond of the mess the kitties created as well as catching them eating the twine, only to throw it up later. I happened to come across these. I decided to buy only one at first and see how it did. I attached before and after pics. I'm sure you will agree that it looks very good. I think doing this gives it a very clean look. And the price, in my opinion is very reasonable. This particular post is a large. The wrap fits around the it snuggly. You don't need to cut out any of the twine. Just wrap it around the post as it is. The cats took to it right away. I'm sure it helped, that I had rubbed some catnip into it before wrapping the post. I highly recommend this! ... show more
