Ordered a large plush and suede sofa orthopedic pet bed last summer for our 45# Brittany boy. He loves it and we love it as it’s easy to wash, comes out of dryer like new and vacuums clean like no other bed we’ve had. And that’s a lot of competition, as there have been many. So pleased that we just ordered a second and will donate the 2 oval high sided beds we ordered recently that are a pain to vacuum. The sleep surface of this bed is not ‘lambs wool” type nap. It is more of a plush. If you have a short haired, cold type of dog, or you want the material to come up around them, then you may not be happy. As far as supportive or soft sleep surface, both are supportive, but I have to note the new one seems to have firmer bolsters and thicker memory foam than the one received last year. Both foam inserts have egg crate shaped surface. So perhaps the company uses different sources, thus the variance in good/poor reviews. When I read the reviews before ordering last week, I was concerned with the negative comments. But happily, both of ours meet the needs of our Brittany boy and English setter (32#) girl just fine. I think these are a great value. I highly recommend this bed. PS just went on the company website and I was impressed with the variety, quality and pricing. PSS now 5 months on since writing and forgetting to submit above review. Beds have held up spectacularly, so ez to care for. Eggcrates held up and are just the right firmness. Just ordered and received 2 more beds for winter house. Can’t say enough about quality, comfort and price. Best I’ve seen in 25 years and 4 pups. Note, in the picture of Charlie, the red and white Brit, the bed appears to be too small. He is tall, about 25” to top of head when standing, but the large size is perfect for him. He usually has his head on the bolster which nicely supports his 13+ year old neck. ... show more

We have had 3-4 of these. They last a long time if your dog is non-destructive. All of our dogs love it and take turns for it. If I was a dog, I would want one. It comes assembled and ready to use. The thickness of the mattress is appropriate and feels good to the touch. In terms of size it will fit medium to large dogs comfortably. Extra-Large dogs (i.e., King Shepherd, San Bernard) would be a stretch. The cover is not waterproof but is machine washable. If you need some liquid protection, consider installing a disposable dog pad between the cover and the mattress. That will save you from messy infiltration into the mattress. ... show more

Pretty nice bed. It'sade with foam instead of that white poly-fill stuff that ends up being flat. My English setter is about 45 lbs. and sze worked fine.

EDIT: I purchased this dog bed one year ago and it is still in GREAT shape, and my dog still loves it (see new picture with reindeer antlers hehe). The cover is easy to take off and wash. I rotate the way I lay the bed (open edge against the wall and away from it) so that it wears down easily. and I also alternate the foam pieces inside in a similar way as well. Doing this has worked wonderfully and it has held up extremely well with my 115lb dog who loves it and lays in it daily. It developed a tiny rip at the seam that I easily glued with permanent fabric glue and back to new. SOO worth it - buy this! I ordered the Jumbo plush espresso bed for my 110lb Bernese Mountain Dog. She is a big girl - both heavy and in terms of her body size. I wanted a bed she could comfortably fit in and actually spread out on. I'm also on a budget, which is not ideal given what I was looking for. We have had this bed for 2.5 mo. and it's still holding up GREAT! Maddie (the pup) took to it immediately, and she continues to love it. She sleeps in it all of the time and definitely enjoys it. I have washed the cover a few times without issue. I noticed that the foam does indent fairly easily and bend one way based on how she lays on it, so I just make it a point to alternate it every few weeks so it wears down symmetrically. The only minor issue I've had was the front stitching on one side started to come apart from her use, but I fabric glued it and it's been fine since. Would definitely recommend this bed. It's not the highest quality bed, but for what you pay it is definitely worth it! ... show more

Okay so I think the picture speaks for itself but i’ll add to it anyways. This bed is actual great quality for a pretty affordable price compared to other beds. Washable sleeve, good material for joints to rest into, and overall SUPER comfortable, cushioning doesn’t seem to wear down or anything. My dog likes to dig his claws into sleeping spots (as expected from most dogs) and his claws tore up the material of his previous bed. He would still sleep in it but I could tell he wasn’t comfortable because he’d only be in it for a few minutes at a time before hopping out and sleeping on the floor. I immediately started looking for beds because I mean, he’s basically my kid, and deserves to sleep comfortably and be happy. I have none of those issues I stated with this one, he remains comfortable and barely claws it up. If he does put his claws to it, there are no signs of tears even for how soft the material is. To add to that, my dog isn’t much of a snorer. At least half the time he knocks out on this he is OUT and he is SNORING. That’s that good sleep. I’m for real so satisified. You love your pet? Don’t settle for cheaper quality products just to save a few dollars. Give this one a try. ... show more

I purchased this Furhaven Orthopedic Dog Bed as a replacement for the exact same model and size that my dog has been using. The original bed (pictured on the right) was thick, supportive, and incredibly cushiony — my dog absolutely loved it, and it held up well over time. Unfortunately, the new bed (on the left) is nowhere near the same quality. Even though I selected the same size and style, the new bed is noticeably smaller and much thinner. The cushion and support just aren’t there. It feels flat and flimsy compared to the original, and my dog isn’t nearly as comfortable on it. It’s disappointing to see such a decline in quality from the same brand and product listing. If Furhaven returned to the original build quality, I’d happily give it 5 stars — but as it stands now, this updated version is not worth the price. ... show more
