We needed a soft, comfortable and large bed for our dying Aussie. The bed was perfect in the cooling, Jumbo size as our old girl was about 59 pounds. She could stretch all the way out and we could easily rotate the bed so she was facing the window or family. It was only three days in use, so I can not speak to cleaning or chew proof, but we are sure she was comfortable in the end. The vet came to our home to perform the euthanasia procedure and now our dear doggie is at the Rainbow Bridge, pain free and running with her canine sisters that have gone before her. So... I have two 65 lb. Pittie’s and they generally don’t tear things up that aren’t meant to be torn up. Dog toys and such have a short shelf life, but outside of the puppy stage the furniture and most items around the house are safe. For that reason, I thought the two new Furhaven beds I bought them were safe. Nope, for some unknown reason I was gone for a morning and I came home to find one shredded. Ugh. To say I was pissed is a massive understatement. I was seriously ready to kill them. They were “this close” to being... passed on! No more! Ceased to be! Expired and gone to meet their maker! Stiffs! Bereft of life, and resting in peace! Pushing up the daisies! Their metabolic processes being history! Off the twig! Kicked the bucket, and shuffled off their mortal coils, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THEY WERE THIS CLOSE TO BEING EX-PITTIES!! After a bit of yelling and screaming and putting the fear of dog in them cooler heads prevailed. It took me a couple of days to summon the energy to clean up the pieces of the bed, but in doing so realized that I just might be covered under the Furhaven “Worry-Free 60 Day Program”... and I was. I contacted Furhaven and emailed them photos of what was left of the bed and they sent me a new replacement. Thank You Furhaven. As the beds go they are really nice. I purchased two of the: Furhaven Pet Bed for Dogs and Cats - Plush and Velvet Waves Perfect Comfort Sofa-Style Cooling Gel Foam Dog Bed, Removable Machine Washable Cover - Granite Gray, Large ( Item / model number: ‎88449537) For my two 65 lb. Pitbulls these large beds are a perfect size. They easily fit one to one and a half dogs, and since my younger 5-year-old female has no concept of personal space they are often both found in one of the beds together. The quality seems fine... unless your Pitbulls are on a, ummm, tear. They are nice and soft. About the only thing I can think of, only word of advice is to maybe take them apart and wash them once a month. When the one got shredded it prompted me to wash the one that wasn’t and it was dirtier inside on the foam and cooling gel bit than I thought it would be. Long story short, I am quite happy with having found and purchased these beds. ... show more

Purchased this for my medium size 12 year old dog. Placed it in the cargo area of my SUV so that he would be comfortable when we travel. He loves his new bed! I am not one of these people who pretends to speak for their dog... his approval is apparent… He gets in the car, goes straight to his bed… Tail wagging… Stretches out, gets comfortable .....And I don’t see him again until the car reaches our destination! Prior to getting the bed… He was constantly jumping from the front seat to the cargo area and back again. He could not find a place and stay comfortable for the entire trip. My dog is 15 yrs old and 78lbs. Finding a true orthopedic bed to help her arthritis is vital. She took right to this bed. It's the perfect size for her to stretch out and not fall off. I don't know how durable it is yet, but the kitten did come and try to chew/nurse the top of it. (They usually sleep together.) So I will post an update in a couple more months as to it's durability.     • It Is Comfortable Enough For Humans!

I bought this bed for my senior Golden Retriever that was having hip issues and rubbing her elbows raw laying on her old bed. We have solid wood floors and she weighed about 90 pounds. It was tough for her to get up off the floor because she would slip on your wood floor. We put down area rugs for her to lay on and for traction, but she started getting blisters and rubbing her elbows raw on the carpet. She was nearing the end of her life and I wanted to make sure she was comfortable. Most large dog beds aren't large enough for the dog to stretch out. Either their head or back feet hang off the edges. This bed is huge! My girl was able to lay across it and the entire body could lay on the bed. In her final days, she couldn't get up without assistance. Being that she was very social and needed to be near me, I began laying in the bed with her spending as much time as I could with her. We were both comfortable. I would lay with her for up to 4 hours some days and I am not small by any measurement. I know she was much more comfortable because she was not whimpering anymore when she would move or turn over in the bed, and this was after only 24 hours. I think if I found the bed comfortable, she was comfortable. After she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, I was able to remove the cover, wash it in the machine, and put the cover back on without any problem. Thank you for providing a superior product. The bed made the quality of my girls last month of life much, much better. ... show more

Our 75lb lab/shar pei mix is a big guy and the jumbo, orthopedic lounger is just right for him! He really does enjoy resting on this plush bed, and he fits with no appendages dangling off! Haven't really tested it for waterproof qualities and haven't had to remove cover to wash it yet either so I can't comment. Our big pup has chewed through the fabric and put a couple of holes in it, but they can be easily repaired. The fabric that the pups lays on is fluffy, soft and light so I'm not surprised our guy has bit through it. ... show more
