I needed an extra, smaller light for some clones…and WOW, this thing is super bright and the plants love it. Perfect for little clones. It does get pretty darn hot though (no built in fan). For $10 I think I’m about to pick up another (or two..)

    • Very high light output, but very high temperature
I bought this since it seemed like the most powerful light for the price, using actual power draw vs "XXX Watt Equivalent". They're currently used indoors for my carnivorous plants, which are notorious for needing lots of light to grow healthy. I cannot complain about the light output, it is more than enough. However, the PPFD measurements are lower than advertised at the given distances. At about 4" I am measuring ~1000, and another reviewer measured ~600 at 8". However, these things get HOT. The metal backplate easily reaches 130F+ when left on for awhile. I am looking in to a small cooling fan to brush air by the plate to hopefully improve this. I noticed some brown marks around the edges of the plastic that touch the metal. I am not sure if these are scorch marks or just dirt, but I disassembled the lights and wrapped Kapton tape around the inside as a protective measure. Overall, I would say this is the most powerful light in its price category. However, it has the potential to be a fire hazard should the plastic burn at the temperatures reached during normal operation. ... show more

The claimed intensity is greatly exaggerated. I tested this light with an Apogee MG-500 PAR meter and found the following. Distance PPFD Approx. DLI @16 hours 18" 118 6 12" 336 20 (Plenty for greens.     • Really really hot to the touch and even the cord itself was warm.
Purxhaswd for indoor plants for a room eith little natural light. Within 5 minutes of plugging in it was really really hot to the touch and even the cord itself was warm. Will be returning. Too dangerous

    • For 10 bucks I wish I would have bought more!
The media could not be loaded. This light is exactly like described, which is kinda rare nowadays but like header states, if I would have known these cheap little lights put out more lux than a few other 100 and 150 watt lights I have(closer distances), I would have bought a couple more! I still might ;) I'm super impressed by the external driver and not the cheap PCB boards 99% of other companies use. Thing puts out(I use LuX measurements not ppfd/par) near full-Sun strength light at ~98976Lux @ 24"! Also happy with the quality construction and use of polished Aluminum and the AcrylicNitrile. Lastly, I'm sure I'll be able to figure out how to daisy chain these as it CLEARLY has the correct male/female AC inputs. Hey STARFiY...need a product tester, I'm pretty close to junking my Lenofocus, Mars Hydro and Vivarspectre for these lights and maybe doubling the lights quantity to 182(double) and using an 80watt external/dimmable driver.
