Pictures couldn't do this topper justice, since it's all about how it FEELS when you sleep on it. If you have [my size] bed, most comforters don't cover up the sheet set and that never bothered me b/c I love to either color match or color block, such as black and pink, to create more energy. If you don't want to see your bed sheets, then get a King sized comforter or one size up from your current mattress size, since they are usually wider, not longer. Aesthetics out of the way, I have a 2 month old Nectar foam mattress and while it's ok, I still have pain in my lower back that radiates to my hips. Foam mattresses are notorious for retaining heat and when they are warm, you are more likely to sink into them. I actually hate both facets about a foam mattress but alternatives were either too expensive or had springs - which I never want to go back to, again. This addresses the heat and sinking into of even a new foam mattress. It's not summer yet but it is hot during the day and cool enough at night not to kick on the air but at the same time, not quite cool enough for open windows due to the humidity, which is literally the worst thing for foam mattresses. The topper creates a barrier between your body heat and the foam and somehow provides support? I'm not sure if it's b/c of the barrier and my newer mattress but it creates the perfect unison between the two so that I have the benefits of more firmness, yet the softness of BOTH. It's an odd combination that I don't think I could've had on my old foam mattress, as it was many, many years outdated and had become extremely uncomfortable. It's supportive, yet not too firm. It's soft, but not soft like memory foam where - which I am not a personal fan of because the same position you lay in is there to stay for longer than I like - you are cozied in to the spot you lay in the longest but when you move, the foam has retained your longest laid-in position so finding a new position to lay in is actually more challenging due to that "memory". I'm really glad I waited for the right topper to come around that I felt would be good to try, since it REALLY worked out for me. They're not cheap and if they're well made, they shouldn't be. I love that it has moderately tight fitting edging around it, and that it is still washable as a complete piece. It's no heavier than your thickest comforter and the size is even smaller than that due to how it's precisely measured to your mattress edging - so the "puffy" pieces are exactly edge to edge. For now, it seems to be EXACTLY what I needed, even with a new mattress, to alleviate the sweating and the lower back and hip pain that plagues me.

Maybe I went too firm on my mattress because I'm a side sleeper and I still have back aches/stiffness when I sleep. I'm trying different mattress pads to see what works. This pad worked pretty well. It's plush and comfortable to lay on. I woke up without any stiffness and felt pretty rested. The mattress says "Cooling" but do not buy this based on that. It didn't keep me from sweating right through my clothes on a hot night. It just perhaps doesn't retain as much heat as other pads. I would say that I'm satisfied with this cover. I love that it's washable, the pockets are deep so it was easy to install even on my very thick mattress. It has softened up my bed a little for sure.

We're going to enjoy this. The mattress topper is a little different from what you see often these days in that it is NOT memory foam. This one is quilted in a large-ish grid pattern, and filled with what the listing indicates is a down alternative material. I bought the King size, and it fits my bed perfectly. And when it says it will fit up to 21" mattresses, believe it. Ours is not particularly thick, but there is a ton of elastic to hold it in place -- for my thinner setup, or for a much thicker one. The topper comes compressed in a sealed bag, and of course you have to be careful when opening it to avoid cutting the material. But I laid it out for a few hours and let it breathe and fully expand. Then put it on, slapped on the rest of the bedding, and gave it a test sleep. After several uses I can say it definitely is cushy and comfortable. It's hard to say whether it is "cooling""or how effective that is because there are just so many variables that can factor in. I'll just say I didn't notice any particular difference in temperature -- real or perceived. But I don't want to make that a negative. In fact, I'll turn it around and make it a positive in that it definitely did NOT make me feel HOTTER. I read the reviews before I ordered and saw some criticisms of its thickness and that it affected how the comforter landed on the side of the bed. That's not an issue at all for us given that our comforter is a bit over-sized width-wise. But, if that look is important, you will have to factor that in since this topper will make the overall bed surface a bit higher. Overall, I think this is a great topper, and for a king size bed, much more affordable than most of what's out there on the market these days.

When I received it, it shipped rather quickly, I put this up to replace my current one the next time I wash the bedding because it had just done that when it arrived. I am very much looking forward to a fresh and fluffy mattress topper because my back has been bothering me so once I use it for a bit I will return to update the review if the topper is anything less than wonderful. It is very similar to the one that I currently have that I have been using for quite some time so I anticipate no issues. But if I encounter them, you will hear about them!! For the price, I hope that it does not disappoint. I have read good things and hopeful....and not afraid to let you know if my experience is different!!

Just a tip...allow this pillow top to breath and come into its fullness, maybe two days at least. It is very comfortable and fits well on my grandson's bed. He even noticed the difference because he slept so good last night. it feels like a mattress on a mattress because it is so thick and firm...not hard. I took one star away because I thought it was a bit pricey at $99.99. I think the price could come down to about the range of $75-$85.
