I am naturally inclined towards putting large items like this together as I work inside people's homes. Was able to get this done in under 2 hours. (I used my own power tools on the lowest setting possible.) The instructions are a bit unclear - another person had mentioned this in their review. In addition, to switch the orientation to have steps on the opposite side (which was necessary for my space, also the reason I bought this model because the listing states stair orientation is reversible) there is no instruction for that, so essentially you have to look at the instructions and flip them 180 degrees in your head to make that work. Not for the faint of heart but it IS possible. The end result is fantastic and well worth the effort.

Very sturdy, stairs have been holding up really well. I did only give 4 stars because the metal support tubing for the desk was a little short and caused the desk to collapse while setting up the computer and we have to McGiver it with some caulking to hold and provide support. Other than that the bed itself is holding up very well after 7 months of daily use. It took 2 people 3 hours to fully build the bed, the upside was everything was included in the box and we weren’t missing any parts. It did come in 2 separate boxes.

This item arrived bent out of shape so parts were hard to assemble. My child is almost 8 and weighs 65 pounds. He took a step to get onto his bed and step broke causing him to injure his knee. He’s devastated and now we’ll have to figure something else out. Not worth all this money on this bed. I wanted to like it so badly, but a trip to urgent care for x rays and fractured knee made me detest this bed.

If you buy this product, makes sure you have a friend that loves you very much to help you put it together, because assembling this bed was one of the most painful experiences of my life. Multiple screws were missing, the instruction manual had many typos (making it VERY confusing figuring out what the real pieces I needed were), and the way the manual tells you to put it together is just clunky and awkward. All in all, it took me 3 days of cursing and screaming to put the bed together. That being said, I give it an extra star because the final product is pretty decent once fully assembled. Also, the staircase is a bit too narrow for me.

I bought this bed for my son. We live in an apartment and need space. This bed made that happen! Initially didn't receive instruction manual-contacted seller and manufacture. Manufacture had the manual in my hands with in hours.

The unboxing of this frame was the most disappointing, from dents and scratches to a very busted desk board. I will have to get a replacement board. Upon contacting Amazon customer service my only option was a $38 refund (it's going to cost more then that for the board) On a plus side no missing pieces. I decided to continue with putting the bed together. The instructions started off very easy to follow but then towards the end the instructions had the wrong numbers for the items. Example the instructions said I needed part 22 but should have been part 32 and then told me I needed 2 part 43 and 1 part 42 but should have been 2 part 42 and 1 part 41. Once completely assembled, the frame looks really nice and is really sturdy. Even the boards on the steps. The strips though do not stick very well so I zipped tied them.
