  • Just the type of TV Mount I was looking for
I bought this TV mount to put up a 55" LG OLED basically in the corner of the living room tucked next to our fireplace that sticks out about 20" from the wall. The 29" inch extension is great. With the size of our space, TV, and the angling, it would be nice to have a couple of more inches, but that's for our particular situation and not a downside of the product itself. Here are the major points, some in response to some of the reviews I've seen: - Easy mounting into wall studs. The problem, however, is if you want the TV to be mounted in a specific location, the spacing of the wall studs will play significant factor since the mount is a single vertical. Fortunately for us, the stud was more or less where we needed it to be in our particular space. If the stud was 3-5 inches in either direction, then we would have had to use wall anchors, and I'm not sure how this would have worked out. I'm assuming fine, but would require more work. - In the installation video, the installer mentioned that the height of the mount on the wall would be about the center of the TV, which I assumed was the case without checking where the mount plate is screwed onto the TV. For an LG OLED, that's not the case, as the mounting is towards the bottom of the TV. This meant that when I mounted the TV was about 8 inches higher than I anticipated, so I had to reinstall the stand, moving it 8 inches lower (and plaster/paint the holes). - The VESA pattern works just fine with the LG 55" OLED using the extender plates. - Only nit is because the OLED screws are towards the bottom of the TV, you can see about a centimeter of each of the extender plates sticking below the TV. Not pretty or ideal, but not a big issue for me. - The mount comes with a package of screws/bolts. The screws for the extender plates to the back of the TV came in two sizes, but for me they were either too short or way too long, so I had to go to Home Depot and buy new 16mm screws to make sure they went deep enough into the back of the TV. No big deal. That was a $3 fix. - The TV swivels and tilts easily. Unlike some reviews complaining how stiff the joints are, our mount was fine out of the box, but you can easily loosen/tighten the joints with an allen wrench if necessary, so I don't know why this is such a big compliant. - After a few weeks of use, it seems to be holding up pretty well and serving its purpose. I'm happy with the mount. ... show more

  • Great, flexible, and stable mount- a couple things I learned that may help you
I'm very happy with this mount. It was easy to mount with the helpful youtube video others have mentioned, and it feels very stable as a single stud mount, even when fully extended. I love the flexibility it offers to rotate my TV at any angle, and have it any any distance from the wall. Two things: the tilt adjustment is really easy to do, once you realize you can ratchet the hand tighteners for additional tightening adjustment (pull out, rotate, and let fall back in). However, I found the level adjustment pretty tough to do. It's a great feature to have, in order to keep your set perfectly level, but the bolts are located in a tough to reach spot. You will need a narrow 10mm wrench to make this adjustment properly, which the instructions should be clearer about. I scuffed up the bolts making this adjustment with my tools on hand in a very tight space, but AV-express were kind enough to send me replacement bolts to have on hand in the future- great service. Overall, this mount is worth the money, and I appreciated AV-express' great youtube video instructions and super responsive customer service by Brian. Thanks! ... show more

  • 70" UHD TV, no problem. EASY ACCESS to rear of TV.
Update 3/28/17: I love this mount. I now store items I regularly need access to behind the TV, it's as ez as opening a cabinet door to swing this TV out on the AEON mount. Very happy with it. Flat screens on the wall are great, but hiding the cable box, sound bars, wiring can make what seems to be a simple project more complex. When I renovated our livingroom I made provisions for a built "entertainment center" over the fire place. I removed the old steel wood burner and replaced it with a electric fireplace. Here in NW Florida fireplace usage is minimal and fireplaces are very inefficient especially in the hot summers here. After removing the flue I built in a space for all my TV, Internet and audio equipment 2 ft deep into the old space for the flue. Framed it out and wired connections for the whole house audio, internet, tv antenna, cable, satelite, wifi ect. It became a great space to hide all the equipment however my first choice of a TV mount for our 70 UHD Smart TV required a huge amount of effort and 2 persons to access all this equipment behind it. Every time the router had to be reset or any type of adjustments or additions to this equipment it required a lot more effort then I cared for. After searching for a solution I came across this mount on Amazon, read its spec's and reviews and it looked like it could solve my problems, ordered it and it arrived 2 days later (love Prime). I opened the box and was impressed with the quality of the design and materials, however I still had my doubts on it supporting my 65lb 70 inch TV, but only mounting it would tell so I began getting ready for the install by uninstalling the TV and the old mount that mounted to the ceiling of the "entertainment center". When getting ready to mount the Aeon mount I noticed the instructions did NOT explain how to figure the height for the mounting. I ended up putting the mount together, laying the TV face down on a thick blanket on the floor and installing it on the TV then placing the TV on it's bottom edge up against a wall, display facing the wall, then measured the distance from the floor to the top hole in the wall mount bracket. I now had a reference point to figure the height to mount the wall mount at. Now I added an inch to that reference point to allow for some sag from the TV weight, I marked the inside left wall of the entertainment center and checked for the framing behind, I knew I had a stud right there but was worried it would not provide enough strength for the TV levered way out 29" on this mount and planned to double up on the stud, so I pulled out the electric fire place and crawled in behind the entertainment ctr, and low and behold I had installed dbl studs when I had previously built the entertainment ctr. Mounting the Aeon bracket was now straightforward, drilling the holes and mounting the wall bracket with the provided Lag bolts. I did use the simple level bubble provided to level the mount to the wall bracket. Lifting the TV with part of the mount already attached to its back and hanging it on the wall mounts arm is also straight forward but it requires 2 persons just for a few minutes ( maybe 5-10 min). Now its just some adjustment of tilt angles and tighten everything up. I found after mounted the weight of the TV only caused a fraction of an inch sag, maybe 1/8", As I had allowed 1" I have a small space below the TV and the fireplace mantle below it, I wanted that space for two reasons, one for ventilation, cool air could now freely flow in from in front of the bottom of the TV across its back and exit above it by natural convection also cooling all the equipment behind the TV. Second, there was space for the remotes IR to get behind the TV and to the equipment behind if required. I have cut 2 small "Chalks" to slide between the bottom of the TV and the mantle to stabilize and support some of the weight. (Edit. 5 months later and i love this mount but i found the chalks unnecessary as the mount has had no sagging issues) While it seems the Aeon mount has no problem holding my 70" flatscreen these small chalks provide the mount relief from the weight of the TV and give me some peace of mind while still allowing simple access behind the TV now. I know there was a less expensive mount on Amazon that looked like it might do the job but for $99 this Aeon mount seems to be well worth it and if I needed to mount another TV it would be another Aeon mount. Also My soundbar is mounted behind a custom black fabric screen on top of the electric firebox. I'm very pleased with the Aeon mount, its a quality mount ... show more
