The bed is excellent quality and easy to assemble. My boyfriend put it together in about an hour, and the instructions were straightforward. The bed came with all the necessary parts, plus some extras in case you misplace a screw. The wood looks great, and it fits true to a full-size bed. If you want to use the top bar to be better protected from rolling off, I recommend using a thinner mattress (10 inches is too much) My boys can fit underneath well, and I can sit at the desk without bumping my head. We loved it so much we bought two!

This is a sturdy, well-made bed frame that should last a lifetime. There are a few problems with assembly, however. On the right side, the vertical support at the front right corner of the shelves doesn't attach to the front-to-back crosspiece because the screw for the long side-to-side front edge of the desk blocks the screw that would otherwise attach it. I suppose you could screw in the vertical support (the holes are all there), but then you wouldn't be able to attach the crosspiece on the right side. Once everything is together, the vertical screw isn't needed as the right side of the desk support isn't going anywhere, but the instructions imply that you can attach both. You can't - the screws would cross each other. There are also several situations where it's not clear from the instructions which way to orient a component, and it makes a difference. You have to look a few steps ahead to figure out which way several pieces are supposed to go. If you don't do this, you may have to partially disassemble it to move the component around. For example, the short supports for the desk must be oriented with the larger holes on the bottom, so the screws that hold the desk pieces in place can go inside the supports. They're not long enough to attach from the outside. This brings up another challenge - the desk screws attach from underneath, so you have to balance them on the tip of the screwdriver and move them into place without knocking them off - if you do, you may not be able to get them out of the crosspiece without removing it. The supplied screwdriver is a joke; you need a full-size one to allow you to generate enough force for the screws to start their own holes in the wood. Attaching the lowest shelves will require you to tip the entire frame over far enough for you to have room to get underneath. The instructions don't say this. It may be possible to attach them before the metal parts are on the frame, but I didn't do it that way. The instructions also don't mention attaching it to the wall. While it's not going to tip over, it does move around as you climb onto it. I attached it with metal straps, which make it feel a lot more solid. Finally, the rungs are only three-quarters of an inch across - very painful for most adults climbing them barefoot. The set does come with extra screws and rubber end caps, a welcome addition as one of them was damaged and had to be replaced. The instructions don't mention this at all. Overall, it's a good frame but the mechanical skill required to assemble it may be beyond the abilities of some people. If you're not - how shall I put it - "mechanically creative" and if you get easily frustrated, you may want to hire someone to assemble it for you.

Don’t waste your time with this unless you like buying new items every two months. It’s also very unstable and shaky. The ladder is so narrow that you have to be a stick (even as a kid) to get up there. As a parent that makes the bed, I would rather just throw it away. It shakes the entire time I am trying to make it for my kid, and I am a smaller adult. Due to the size of mattress you HAVE to use with it, it’s so uncomfortable and when it comes to kids needing their sleep for school and activities; this just ain’t it. For their health and mental sake, just go with a normal bed and separate desk area. Yes it may take up for room but at least they will have a healthier life.

Instructions weren't really hard to follow , only issue building it was the wood being screwed together didnt seem to work with the screwdriver sent , some parts didn't connect together due to damage from shipping, had to make something work. Item isnt sturdy and shakes as you climb upwards , would recommend this for a larger room since unfortunately the place i built it was too small .. but nonetheless would recommend if you are interested in something as a loft bed.

Took a few hours to build. Very easy with 2 people. It could be done with one person but would take awhile. My daughter loves everything about the bed. She's a gamer and has a nice set up under the bed for her gaming. It also made so much more room.
