I open water swim in a 72-degree spring-fed river in Florida. I purchased this only as a substitute for sunscreen as I'm exposed for up to 2 hours at a time. It works. I was surprised to find it actually kept me warmer. This suit is not neoprene. Its material is like a race suit but thinner. The water permeates like a normal suit, but since this is close to the skin, it feels like the water is 2-3 degrees warmer. And, it blocks the wind. I am 5-9, 165 with a 30" waist and a muscular build. I purchased the large and it fits almost perfectly. The arms and legs are a hair too long, but this thing is so elastic it doesn't matter. My wife is 5-6 with completely different dimensions. She tried it on and it fit her, too. I swam competitively in college and as a masters athlete. I was concerned about the feel of something covering my upper body and arms. But, this suit is not at all restrictive and it has zero drag. In fact, I'm swimming my best times with it on. The best recommendation I can give any product is I would buy it again. I received mine and wore it the same day. I had another one in my Amazon shopping cart immediately after I returned from Kayaking. Not only did it give me what I originally purchased it for, which was UV protection, the breathability of the material was amazing. When the breeze began, while I was out on the water, I could feel it through the material as though I wasn't wearing anything at all, yet, with the sun beating down on me, I felt completely protected from UV. I have a dislike for sunscreen. I use it but I don't like it. Now I only have to use sun protection on my face, neck, feet and hands; if any of them are exposed. The fit is comfortable and no matter what your body shape is, it will stretch around all of your curves. To the manufacturer: don't change a thing. You can't improve perfection. ... show more

I have had this suit for a month or so and just got around to using it. I use it as a pool suit for those chillier days and those days when the water is a bit below my threshold (I like 85 and above water). I did not want a wet-suit per se, just something lighter. This offers enough movement for normal swimming, and you do not bob like a cork. This is ideal. It fits so well that you do not notice that you have it on. It allows for a thin layer of water to build up and provide some warmth. The neck is secure, but not tight enough to choke you. If I popped out of the water, I could feel the chill of the air, but noting near what my face and hands felt. I did rush to my heavy robe coming out, but, again, my feet and hands were cold, the rest of me just a bit chilled. It is stretchy and a bit tough to get off while wet, but so is any uni-suit. I will get me to 12-months a year in my pool instead of nine or ten - without my heavier wet-suit. ... show more

I bought this to wear under my 3 mm wet suit. I use the wet suit for whitewater rafting at 50 degrees average. I am 5'8" and weigh 160-165, just depending on how many groceries I'm packing in at any given time. I got a large and it fits perfectly, but the suit is at the uppermost weight limit. If I were 170, an XL might be the way to go. As far as height, it varies. I wear booties that ride 5 inches up the ankle, so I have play (I could be taller or shorter and it would be fine. OK! It's a snug fitting suit and it's Lycra. Don't let Velcro (hook and loop) come in contact with it. Don't pull at it to get it over your hands and feet. Grab it by the leg/arm opening and help it past your heel or hand. I can pull on a snug fitting wet suit with absolutely no problems when wearing Lycra. Just slip right in. No bunching from the Lycra. Also, when you pull off a wet suit, do it in a fashion that turns it inside out. Then while you are still wearing your Lycra suit, turn the wet suit right side out. Easier! The only reason I offer these suggestions is it appears not everyone is aware, judging by the reviews. ... show more

It's comfortable, It fits and is very snug. I'm 6"5' 210 lbs and bought the XX-Large and the construction of this product is very similar to a Zentai. It's got a pullstring for the zipper which is extremely nice and I strongly suggest a speedo or swim-trunks to go with this if you plan to use it in public as it hides very little detail. Overall nice product, wish it had slightly better construction in the midsection to not require more to be used with it. It is not fast dying as advertised and could be made with better stitching. After the first use the product has loose threads from one of the sleeves. Save your money and buy neoprene. ... show more
