I wanted to write a review of this X-T20 for the benefit of those who are trying to find the "best" among the recent crop of 4/3 and ASP-C. I cant compare any of these listed to the Sony 63 or 65, but i own the rest on the list. So, its all about AF, IQ, Low Light, and handling, and for me "macro"......isnt it. IQ: So, this Fj-X-T20 and the Canon EOS M5 (22mm) offer the best IQ in this group. So, if you are just looking for "best IQ" then get the X-T20 or the Canon EOS M5, as both of these just produce that saturated 3D beauty, even with Jpegs. The Pen-F is close and the Pany GX85 is pretty much equal to the Pen-F regarding Jpgs, lightly more crisp tone yet with slightly less fullness of color saturation in the Jpegs. In Low Light,: the Pen F and the Fuji X-T20 are equal, the Pany is quite good and the Canon struggles just a bit in low light. AF speed.....The Fuji, the Pen F, and the Pany are QUICK, and the Canon is very good but its not blazing fast. Handling: The Canon is miles ahead of the rest. The Pany GX85 is very good, the Pen-F is "not bad", and the Fuji is too heavy and not quite balanced with the big 18-55mm lens. Macro: The Pany gets you close and has that wonderful "pinpoint focus), the Canon with the 22mm gets you surprisingly close, the Pen-F is not as good as those and the Fuji has totally excluded any type of Macro shooting with the 18-55mm lens......However the 16-50mm Kit lens allows you to get closer with the Fuji X-T20, but the lens is a bit soft as compared to the much more "pro" and much heavier 18-55mm Fuji Lens. All of these are very good cameras, with the Fuji and Canon giving you the best looking (Jpeg) photos, tho the Pen-F also delivers much better photos then any of the Olympus E-1-8 series. So, if its all about Handling and IQ then get the Canon, tho it does not have an E-Shutter, the body is plastic, and the focus is not as fast as the other 3. If you just want IQ and dont mind a heavy camera, then get the X-T20 with the 18-55mm. (tho with a light prime lens this would be a much better handling camera, but with the 18-55mm dumb bell hanging on the front, its heavy and not so fun to shoot but its not a deal breaker, ...just be aware). If you need fast fast fast AF speed and effortless shooting and very good IQ, then the Pany is the one, but the IQ is not quite the all around perfection you find with the Canon M5 or with the Fuji X-T20. The Pen F, is nearly the IQ equal of the Canon and the Fuji, (90%) but does not handle as well as the Canon or Pany GX85, tho the photos are absolutely the best Olympus has ever offered in a FUN 4/3 camera....They are really good.

I've had this camera for a couple of months now and I really enjoy it. I previously tried the Panasonic G85 (poor autofocus in video and expensive lenses), the Sony A6300 (confusing menus, slow operation, and few quality lenses), and the Canon M5 (poor image quality and lens selection) and did ultimately did not like the cameras. When I first picked up the Fuji XT-20, I knew it was a keeper! The dials and design are really what set this camera apart from all the others. It's easy to use and you can access all of the controls quickly. You can also customize a lot of the buttons and menus to your liking, which also speeds up the use and lets you focus on creating pictures or videos. The lens selection is great and mostly affordable. Almost every lens made for this system is top notch in terms of sharpness and build quality, and the prices are reasonable too. I don't like the recording limits for video. I create YouTube videos, and it can become annoying when you have to stop recording after 10minutes of recording. I have taken to setting a timer, because you can start recording again right away after you end it. Otherwise, I have no complaints. It works great, the camera has a great build quality.

I won't repeat what every published review has already stated, but I will say that they are correct. This is an amazing camera. My main camera is a D800, but I became tired of lugging it around the world on trips and bought, then sold, a Sony A6000 for a trip last year and decided I could live with the smaller form factor, but was not happy with the resolution or AF of the A6000 (though it was a very nice camera). The new A6500, is much better, but is just plain over priced, so I went with the X-t20. The most impressive thing I've noticed so far is its incredible zone tracking accuracy. I've tested it on birds in flight and the focus is amazingly spot on 80% of the time. My only complaints are that it kills batteries, so buy plenty, and there aren't customizable user sets like I have on my D800 that I can set all parameters for different shooting conditions. I would love to see this implemented and users allowed to map them to Adv1 and Adv2 settings on the top dial - the current use of which I find to be totally worthless for me. I'd also like to be able to map different functions to the front command wheel, but at the moment it limited to for aperture or EV, neither of which I need on the command wheel. And incredible camera with minor flaws that could be easily fixed with a firmware upgrade. If you can find one available (I got one on Amazon when they were in stock for about a hour a few weeks ago).

I bought this camera as a potential supplement or replacement for my Canon 5D Mark ii and assortment of expensive and high-quality lenses. The main reason I did was because I wanted something smaller that I could travel with more easily than my "big" camera and collection of big, heavy lenses. Here are a few reactions after my first week with the Fuji: * Wow, I am completely blown away by the image quality coming out of this camera with the 18-55 kit lens (the more expensive one). The images are on par with those I would take with my 5Dii and a very good prime lens. But it's the kit lens! That zooms! See the attached picture. I'm not sure if amazon will reduce the file quality, but if you can zoom in and look at the details, they are perfect. Every bit as good as with a professional SLR and expensive prime. * I shoot everything in RAW. the colors coming out of the camera are really great. Again, on par with what I can get with a great prime lens. Nothing is washed out. The colors are vibrant and beautiful. With that said, I have noticed that some shots in bright outdoor lighting have a bit of an unwelcome blue cast to them. Easily adjusted later and this might be a setting that I'm missing. * Being able to charge the camera over USB was an unexpected surprise that I hadn't thought about. Now I can leave the battery charger at home and just plug in with a mini-USB and my cell phone's wall adapter. I can also charge the camera with a pocket battery pack, like the kind you would charge a cell phone with. * The face detection is pretty good. The eye detection is a bit less sharp, unless you are dealing with a subject sitting completely still. For some reason the face detection doesn't always show up for me. * I love being able to focus using the touch screen. Note that this is not the default behavior and you have to update your settings. Want to focus on the person in the corner? Just touch their face. It's great. You do have to remember, though, that the focus will remain in that spot until you update it. * Another unexpected benefit: that you can shoot without holding the camera up to your eye. People just seem less stressed out when you are behaving more like a tourist than a "photographer." * An unexpected disappointment: I use Lightroom version 5.7, which is a couple years old. It won't accept the RAW images from this camera, because the software is no longer developed to include newer camera models. Adobe wants you to pay $10 a month for their crappy newer version, but you can also download the Adobe Digital Negative Converter application for WIndows or Mac, and it will losslessly convert the RAW images to a format that an older Lightroom will accept. That's all I have after a week. Overall, I'm really impressed with this little camera. It fits in a coat pocket and takes pictures that are on par with a huge SLR that was the state of the art five years ago. I'll definitely keep it for travel, and as I get more comfortable with it, maybe replace the big SLR with it entirely.

I was pretty set on a Sony for my next camera, but after researching extensively the X-T20 was just too compelling a choice. After comparing tons of photo examples online I noticed how much I liked the Fuji look, which is a bit unique. I like that Fuji continues to update their products with firmware updates that add features and improvements. In hand this camera is very well made to an impressive degree, the buttons and dials are sturdy. I had looked over quite a few tutorials before my camera arrived and found the menu system pretty easy to navigate and logical, I was up and shooting right away. Image quality with the kit 18/55 is not disappointing, the image stabilization works very well, most of the images are nice and sharp and with that Fuji look. You'll get a lot of "keepers". I chose Fuji for their IQ, solid hardware and continuing product updates, it's all good, even a bit beyond expectation. Five Stars.

Well, this is my short period of use review. I have not tested this camera long enough to leave detailed review, but I hope I will have a chance to update this one in some time. Or someone who is interested can find planty of detailed reviews online. Anyways, I love this camera so far. I added metal grip handle to it and I like how it feels in my hand and looks on a tripod. Some serious photographers/reviewers complained about battery life and suggested to have extra batteries just in case. I bought two Chinese replicas and never had a chance to use them. I guess this is because the usb changing feature is implemented into this camera, so I charge it any time I have a chance to do that. Kit 18-55 lens works fine and covers pretty useful range of focal length. To my personal taste I would prefer wider end to be 12 mm, not 18, but this is just my thoughts to support an idea to buy one of these Korean rokinons 12mm/f2.0 lens. :) Jpegs straight from the camera are awesome if you know how to use it. If you dont make mistakes with exposure, focusing and framing a scene jpegs will amaze you. Seriously.

Just for some context, I was a wedding photographer shooting Canon bodies and Sigma Art lenses for a few years buts got out of the industry and now mostly shoot videos of travels and do occasional family photos. I have also previously owned some other Fuji cameras. A buddy of mine has a similar setup to this in canon, he has the 6D mk ii with the 24-70ii and we film often together. His setup is nearly 3x the cost of mine and I still prefer the Fuji in a non-professional setting. THE GOOD: The combo of the xt20 and the 18-55 kit lens is stellar. The image quality is outstanding and the lens is reseanable fast. For this price I don't think there is anything you could get that compares. Fuji's glass is phenomenal. The video quality especially is really outstanding. You can shoot in a very flat "film simulation" which makes color grading a breeze. 4K Is a great plus even though I don't use it too much. THE NOT SO GOOD: Where the battery compartment is located in relation to the tripod mount is pretty rediculous. If you are using the tripod mount often it's worth getting one of the grips you can find here on Amazon that moves the location. Image stabilization isn't as great as I expected for Video. My wife has a canon g7x mk ii and the IS is like butter. The Fuji IS is alright and passable with some of the firmware updates. I'm not sure why Fuji decided to not use a standard size audio input jack. I guess it's to try and force us to use their proprietary mic, but it's pretty annoying to have to use an adapter or aftermarket cable to get a standard(RODE for example) mic to work. I feel like for the price and the image quality, this camera is 5 stars. My complaints are extremely minor in reality. I wish I could give a 4.5.

I’m a pretty beginner/intermediate photographer, I’ve been using Canon for 10 years casually and leisurely and have always loved Canon so much I was hesitant to change systems but WOW I am so glad I gave this little camera a chance. I love how lightweight and compact it is without it sacrificing image quality. It took a couple YouTube videos and hands-on attempts to get used to all the new dials, features, and settings but honestly, it feels a lot easier and simpler to shoot in manual than it ever did with Canon. Love how crisp the images are, focus is incredible, and the colors are my favorite. My biggest frustration so far is how small the shutter button is and can be hard to find for some, but I have small hands so it’s not a deal breaker for me. If that’s an issue for you, they sell little red caps for it to make it easier to find.
