Overall a very nice camera that takes excellent stills and very good action shots and video. This is my first adventure in to a more serious camera from point and shoots. I did some research ahead of time and this camera is perfect for what I want to do. #1 I want to say I was looking for a camera that can take high quality stills but can also do some occasional capturing of high school sports and some video of my kids. I think this is a perfect camera with the kit 18-55 lens. #2 Stills. I am amazed at how well you can crop a photo and still maintain good resolution. This helps to frame the photo much easier. I don't have to be as close to my subject yet I'm still able zoom in enough to have my "ideal" photo in the end. I like the filter effects that it produces and the clarity of both color jpegs and black and white photos. The detail is incredible. #3 If I wanted a serious action camera I would have choose something else. How many action photos of a basketball game, volleyball match, or tennis match do I need? Plus I don't want to sort through 5,000 pictures. I think a 20-25 good action shots during a handful of games is plenty. What could I possible do with 300 shots of my child driving to the basket or shooting a jumper? Hit rate is fairly good with a few keepers and few throwaways. #4 Video. Again not great but not bad. I don't do tons of video but I like to do some here and there. Plenty good compared to what I am used to you and for as much I shoot video. No complaints at all here!!! Good stuff. #5 Fuji Apps. I was able to use the remote app to take long exposure photos of fireworks on July, 4th without touching the camera and blurring my shot. Worked flawlessly. I wish it was maybe a little smoother to hook up to my smartphone but still was pretty easy. The photo receiver app is pretty nice to. The camera is able to crop the photo as you are previewing the image on the camera and send the cropped picture to my phone with this app. It is then saved in the camera roll of my iPhone to share with friends/social media. Actually all very cool and useful. #6 I have played a little with RAW photos and I use silkypix that is a program fuji recommends. Pretty basic but it does allow a little post picture processing to help change the picture for the better after you take it. I always shoot with Raw+Fine mode so I get both the high quality jpeg file and the RAW file. Overall the Fuji X-T10 is an excellent camera for anyone looking to make the jump into advanced digital photography with a system that takes excellent stills, good occasional action shots, some good video here and there. Still shots are still the bread-n-butter of this camera but it can do action shots and video well enough for the most enthusiastic family photographers. Excellent camera. Here a few quick photos without paying a lot of attention to any settings and messing around. JPEG straight from the Camera while I am learning. Some pros could probably do a better job : ) ... show more

I'll start by saying I am an amateur photographer and this is my first interchangeable lens camera. I had been shooting with an LX5 and then an LX7 and really loved those cameras and the compact size, manual controls, and image quality. Now with the X-T10, I realize those Panasonic's were perfect training wheels for this camera. I bought this for my extensive good times, backpacking, and travelling, and wanted something that had great low light performance and the ability to swap out lens, and that wasn't too big. I also was looking for something with a lot of manual control. This camera has so far absolutely blown me away. I bought it with the 18-55mm as well as the 18mm 2.0. Though I am duplicating focal lengths having these two lenses, I absolutely love how small this camera becomes with the 18mm. I can hide it under a jacket at night and you can't even tell I have a camera on me. Photos have so far been completely amazing. The view finder is fantastic, the wifi works great to get things instantly to text and instagram, and the controls are amazing. This was a great first leap into interchangeable lens cameras, and after several weeks with it, I can't put it down. When you put the style and manual controls together, the camera is just plain fun, and for me that is what matters the most. Being able to confidently shoot at high ISO with such a small camera has changed when and where I take my camera. It is a bit expensive compared to some other mirrorless enthusiast cameras, but the slogan "you get what you pay for" most definitely applies. There are most definitely cameras with more impressive specs in this price range, but in my opinion the ergonomics and aesthetics of this camera create a more enjoyable experience. I am also a huge fan of the simplistic menus and customizable buttons. Since I have fairly large hands, I added the thumb rest, a soft shutter release, and the leather "Ever Ready" case and this thing is just the right balance of small and comfortable to hold. I wish it was weather sealed like its bigger brother, but otherwise I give it 5 stars. ... show more

Great camera, great looking, stylish, high-quality and easy to use. I did compare with the X-T1 and decided that the T-X10 was the better value sacrificing some weather resistance, user control style and other minor features. purchased the T-X10 'kit' with Fujifilm XF 1855mm F2.84.0 R LM OIS Lens which is about $500 cheaper than the T-X1 camera only, no lens... I have taken this on at least three camping trips (mostly inclement weather). So far, the camera has performed well overall. Some of the features like wireless file uploading are a bit cumbersome. I would like to see battery charging via USB or car adapter. This thing is a battery 'killer' so I purchased two spare batteries in lieu of having a 'mobile' method of charging when out hiking/camping. Be careful that the spare batteries you buy are genuine and not refurbished, I could not find anything on Amazon.com that I trusted... I purchased the following accessories after some research and happy with selections; + Lowepro Adventura 120 Camera Shoulder Bag - great bag, not to large, fits perfectly with the XF 1855 lens, spare batteries and memory cards (Amazon.com) + (2) SanDisk Extreme PRO 32GB UHSI/ U3 SDHC Flash Memory Card (1-Amazon.com, 1 B&H Photo) + (2) Watson NP-W126 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 1120mAh) - in addition to the battery shipped w/camera (B&H Photo for $19.99 each) + Watson Duo LCD Charger with 2 NPW126 Battery Plates For Fujifilm NPW126 Type Battery - upgrade from the battery charger shipped w/camera (Amazon.com) ... show more

I shoot professionally with Canon gear but sometimes don't want to deal with the weight and logistics of loading all of it for a day trip where I may or may not decide to shoot. I was looking for something with a small footprint and could be as manual or automatic as I wanted without weighing down my daypack. I compared several different options and eventually it came down to the Sony A6000 series and this. Why I selected the XT10 was that people consistently said this was a photographer's camera, it provided better images and had a lot of manual buttons available for those of us who wanted something a little less menu driven. Do not buy this camera if video is important to you because it can't hold a candle to the A6000 in that respect. I very rarely shoot video so I was not concerned. The 18-55 f/2.8 kit lens does a fantastic job. It's a good walk around lens and it might be the only one I will use for this camera. You will absolutely need a second battery so make sure you budget for one. The camera eats through one by the end of the day depending on how much you use the rear screen. The OLED viewfinder works amazingly well. You can review photos in it too which will help with the battery life. My only two complaints are the lack of weather sealing and the placement of the small menu buttons in the lower right back of the camera. I tend to hit them when holding the camera if I am not careful. However, I know I will get used to holding it a little differently with time. Bottom line, if you want a small mirrorless camera that takes great images and has a retro look and feel to it, you won't regret this purchase. ... show more

    • A good compromise leaves everyone mad..

It's either the perfect compromise, or the compromise that leaves everyone mad. It's a great mid-sized, mid-priced camera. But it neither matches the image quality of the FF Sony A7 series or the compact form factor of the micro 4/3s market. It's right in the middle. This will either leave you tickled or frustrated depending on your needs. I ended up returning it after a week. I had been using an EM5 mk1 and was wanting to upgrade for better image quality/low noise for landscape, nighttime, astrophotography. If I was the kind of guy that considered multiple thousands of dollars nothing to balk at then I would already have the Sony A7II with a full compliment of lenses. But photography is just a hobby for me and I considered myself lucky to have a budget with an upper limit of 2000. I managed to pick up the XT10, a used Fuji 23mm 1.4 and a used Rokinon 12mm 2.0 for hundreds below that. The image quality combined with these lenses was great and edged out my experience with m4/3's, but not so much that it was worth the trade off in portability and ergonomics. The camera itself is pretty compact, but I found it very difficult and frustrating to grip. This was only aggravated by the size and weight of the Fuji 23mm 1.4. I have small hands but struggled to hold it one handed and kept mashing the buttons in the lower right corner of the back with the meat of my hand. The slight bump on the front of the grip was practically useless to me as the tips of even my small fingers sit much closer to the lens and have nothing there to grip. You're left basically trying to pinch a flat block between your thumb and flattened fingers instead of clutch the camera into your palm as with many other cameras. While I appreciated the quality of the glass, the increased size and weight of the Fuji primes over the m4/3's was a big turn off for me. In the end I decided to switch back to my m4/3's. I bought a used EM10 to use with my pany 20mm and oly 45mm while I wait for the EM1 mkII. I'm glad I tried out the Fuji system, if only to appreciate my m4/3's all the more! ... show more

Have owned this Fuji X-T10 camera for about a year. Purchased from Amazon. Coming from a Minolta film camera I wanted to retain tactile manual control options. Really like the results of skin/water/sky tones it takes directly to Jpeg. The film simulations give pictures some personality, which preview nicely in the viewfinder. The ergonomics are great, and not too bulky. I usually set one or two manual settings. The Auto Iso is very useful feature; enabling quicker shot taking with an adjustable lowest allowed shutter speed. If you want to have a more stark B+W jpeg right out of camera try these settings: B+W w/Green film sim, + 2 highlight, +2 shadows, +1sharpness, -1noise reduction, Bracketing works well. If Fuji could expand bracketing is to allow bracketing using 'Q' menu presets (for example C1, C2, C3 presets bracketed) that would be a fun option. And to allow naming the presets would be helpful too. I did some minor tweaking to the attached jpegs in Picassa software, but I hope they show how much fun you can have with this camera. ... show more

I bought this last month and took this on my trip to Italy last week. Was contemplating on this vs my 5DMarkIII Canon but I knew I was going to be walking a lot and didn't want to carry it's weight (not adding the additional lens yet!). Anyway, it was the best decision to bring the Fuji X-T10. It was very light. I only have one lens which is the 18-55 2.8-4.0 kit and this did it all! Got happy with a lot of pictures it took! Only drawback is the battery. Before I left, I've already tested it and knew it would not last me for a day - so I ended up getting 2 extra ones (aftermarket). Trust me... with the shutter spree I was doing, I was utilizing all 2.5 batteries in 1 day! Anyhow, I took both raw and jpegs, and so far I've haven't even touched or looked at the raw ones because the jpegs were already gorgeous. Film simulations were very nice. I bought a Sony A6000 last July but ended up returning it because I didn't like the sharpness (I think it was the kit lens that came with it). I got this one instead and seems this will be my go to camera for casual shooting! Hope you guys like the pictures! ... show more
