  • Superb landscape camera
There is no substitute for the mind-blowing high resolution of this medium format camera. It has a few quirks - like slow shutter response and it is sometimes slow to focus. But for landscapes, where you can take your time, the images are stunning. I don’t recommend this camera for sports or wildlife - it’s just too slow. This is not a camera for beginners. Almost nothing is “automatic”. You need to manually chose most basic settings - like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. It is also big and heavy. If you are ready to move beyond 35 mm cameras, want to have detailed control over your images, and want to shoot breathtaking landscapes, this is the right camera for you. ... show more

  • Camera arrived broken.
Camera wouldn’t work straight out of the box. It wouldn’t recognize any lens. Tried two separate (brand new) GF lenses with no luck. Fujifilm support said to return it. Amazon would only allow a return with 30 days to get the money back. No option for a replacement camera. Pretty lousy experience, it’s the last time I’ll ever buy a camera from Amazon. ... show more

  • Excellent sensor
I liked my original GFX 100S II so much I bought a second one. Yup, I've got two of these that I use for my wedding photography business. The files coming from these cameras are so great to work with if needed. Most of the time thought they're almost perfect out of the camera. If I have to nit-pick I wish the AF was a bit faster since I'm used the the superb AF of my Sony A1 cameras. I can overlook that and work around it for the most part. Whether its for portraits or landscapes I love this system. ... show more

  • The difference from Nikon didn't support the cost. In fall fairness, your experience may differ.
Purchased as a means of exploring the field of medium format cameras. This model I found to be the best based upon price, capability, features etc. To be honest I sold it after 5 months. Reason, after 25 years with Nikon (currently Z8 and Z9) I found the learning curve to be steep. I found it difficult to get familiar with the menu system. The control button for the menu system was too small IMHO (but could be that my fingers are too big?). Shutter speed was too slow for my use in doing BIF photography. I found that the resolution difference from my Nikon cameras not significant enough for the cost of the product. In support of the camera I also bought fuji 500mm, 45-100mm and 1.4 TC. ... show more

Love it...replaces my Nikon 750. The 100MP and latest technology shows up in the photos.

  • viewfinder issue
The media could not be loaded. What's going on here... I am even not sure if the body is brand new since the box comes without being sealed.

  • Wonderful But Faulty Model
I had rented a GFX100S and enjoyed its ease of use and IQ. I decided to get this new model for urban architecture and landscapes. And I found the sensor to be extremely sharp and surprisingly low noise. The IBIS allowed handheld indoor shots at 1/10 sec that were sharp. It was all good until the camera died after a routine shot. I took the battery out and reinserted. Nothing. All buttons were dead. The top screen was blank. I plugged in the USB-C cable, and the IBIS activated. Then the screen came back after some on-off switching. I managed to get about 15 shots until it died again. I’ve shuffled three Fuji batteries and it happens with all of them. When it powers on, sometimes the viewing screen is black except for a sliver of view in the lower part of the screen. These issues happened within the first five days, and it is getting more difficult to revive. To be clear, I purchased this at my local camera store, and not B&H, but I thought this was a good forum. I can’t diagnose it, but the sensor seems fine, and the issue is more with power, or perhaps the processor. I am waiting on a replacement (11 days now) and I hope this is a fluke issue and not a pattern. I am an amateur photographer with no crucial assignments. ... show more
