Description

The Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM (MM4) system includes all the same features as the Mini-Mite 3 PLATINUM but with the use of a stronger 4-stage motor turbine. The MM4 PLATINUM includes the Fuji T-70 Spray Gun that features a pattern control knob to adjust the fan size from small to large. Fuji installs the same powerful 4-stage turbine motor as used in the Q4 Models. The MM4 PLATINUM does not have the patented noise-reduction feature as seen on the Fuji Q-Models, however the noise level is no more than any other standard HVLP turbine. The MM4 PLATINUM Turbine develops approximately 8.5psi. This allows for less thinning of paints than any 3-stage model. More than enough pressure to spray all known coatings (when properly thinned) and all the newer water-based coatings. The Spray Gun included with this package is the Fuji T-70 with 1 Quart cup. The standard Air cap set 3 (1.3mm) is for the use of general purpose fine finishing. Easy to maintain. Perfect for professiol or beginner. This is an industrial-rated machine at an unbeatable price. Heavy-duty metal case with Gun Holder. Portable and powerful. The system includes the Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM Turbine, 25ft Hi-Flex hose, T-70 Non- bleed Spray Gun with 1 Quart cup, viscosity cup, cleaning brush, wrench and 20 page user manual. What’s new in the Mini-Mite PLATINUM Series? The Fuji Spray Heat Dissipation Box Fuji Spray has designed a unique method of removing any heat build-up from the Turbine case. Excess heat is channeled to a Heat Dissipation Box located at the rear of the case. Fuji Spray Noise Reduction Covers The Mini-Mite PLATINUM Turbines are equipped with a method to reduce noise. The Noise Reduction Covers house the Filters. • It Brings Me Joy!
First I will give a background of myself. I have been a hobby woodworker for 30+ years. When it comes to painting – I hate it. I find it boring and I spend too much time trying to get a good finish. Over the years I have tried a variety of sprayers and they never quite lived up to their claims. About 3 years ago I purchased an Earlex 5500 and I started getting some finished that were better than my average. However trying to get the unit to spray certain types of paints was difficult. It involved a lot of thinning. Lots of sanding between coats. They would go on too dry or too wet. The manufacturer stated that it could spray from a tiny line to wide fan. The thin lines were okay – but forget about a fan. It could try – but the unit could never push enough product to paint properly. So I was left with spraying panels with round patterns about 1” in diameter. This of course doesn’t get a good overall coat – its blotchy- and I end up having to apply 5 or 6 coats to get a good finish. The bottom line is that the sprayer I was using just doesn't have the power to do the job. I came across the Fuji line of sprayers while searching videos on how to use the Earlex. I kept watching these guys spray with what appeared to be no effort at all and getting great results on their first path. But still the Fuji is expensive for me, especially for a hobby. To be honest I was also apprehensive after years of trying other solutions. But I kept watching and doing more research. Finally, after a year I decided to buy one. I am very happy that I did. Packaging. I was impressed with the packaging. Inside was a separate box for the compressor and the gun. The hose was wrapped in plastic wrap and that was wrapped again in a softer Styrofoam cloth and then tied together. They took a lot of care packaging that hose and thought that was nice. First Impressions. When you first see this thing – it is really nice. The compressor is heavy duty. Its metal. Its solid. The gun looks really nice. Its metal and aside from some tubing – everything else seems to be metal. Now the hose is something else. This thing is heavy duty also and I can understand the need for the whip hose ! Sound. Based on my research a lot of people complain about the sound. I don’t think it is that loud. It isn’t louder than the Earlex. It just doesn’t bother me at all. Test Use. I decided to test it out with water. I needed to learn how the controls worked, etc. When I pulled the trigger is when I got my first taste of what this thing can do. You can feel the power of this unit when you pull the trigger. Its dramatically different than any other sprayer I ever used. I didn’t spend very long testing it. The learning curve was pretty simple and fast. First Use. I used it to spray some items with a shellac based primer. It had no problems delivering the material at all. I got a great finish on my first try. I was able to set it for a wide fan and I painted (10) 9”x12” boards in less than 30 seconds. I sanded down the first coat – not because of the sprayer – but because the primer raises the grain. The second coat of primer was perfect. No blotchy sections. In fact if I didn’t tell you it was primer – you might think it was painted. Clean up: Cleaning up was pretty simple. It breaks down easily and it isn’t any worse than other guns. My only issue was trying to get the screen at the end of the paint tube cleaned out properly. Painting. When it came time for painting – the first coat went on with no issues at all. Very smooth. Not too dry. Not too wet. Dialing in the proper pattern and paint flow is very easy. You can dial it in very quickly and then you are on your way. At that point things go very quickly. What used to take me 5-6 coats if getting done in 2. Overall- I am very happy with the purchase. I wished I had bought it sooner. ... show more

  • Great HVLP system. Can spray most any finish you would want
I am a hobbyist woodworker/wood turner with over 30 years of experience. As far as finishing, I have used hand applied methods and spraying. Started with a high pressure system. Saved time applying the finish and the results were good, but only about 25% of the finish ended up on the piece, and cleanup was a chore. Graduated to an Accuspray 19c conversion gun. This was a step up, but still ran at a higher pressure and had less blow back of the finish, but still not ideal. Also, still had to worry about contamination from the air in the compressor (water and oil) requiring in-line filters. In addition, I also would spray latex, which required a separate gun and pressure pot altogether. Finally decided to go full HVLP and requirements were that I could spray waterborne finishes (lacquer and poly), stain, deck finishes and latex/acrylic paint. The Mini Mite 4 checked off all of the requirements. In addition, I purchased a #5 Aircap (1.8mm) in order to spray latex and the 6' whip hose for maneuverability. The extra 6 feet also allows the air to cool a bit more, as the air coming from the turbine is warm. The first project was to repaint a Lutyens bench that I had built around 20 years ago. I was able to limit thinning the paint to within the manufacturers guidelines with the 4 stage motor turbine. After a bit of fine tuning of the spray pattern and fluid flow, I was able to get the finish on beautifully. If I can spray this 100% acrylic paint, I will be able to spray any finish that I want. Cleanup was also a breeze using the PPS liner system. I would highly recommend this addition. Less cleanup, wastage, can reseal unused finish, and no burps of the gun when running low. Also, only the front internals of the gun need cleaning as they are the only thing to come in contact with the finish. In short, I am very pleased with my purchase, and think this unit is well worth the money. This looks like it might be the last finishing system I need. ... show more

  • Stepping into the professional world...
After trying for years to get a good finish with cheap compressor driven spray guns I decided to move up to a real professional setup. The difference in quality is amazing, and I was able to get a very good finish on my first try, even though I was spraying oil based primer that I happened to have on hand. I placed the unit around the corner from where I was working and the noise level really wasn't bad at all. Do yourself a favor and purchase the hose whip for the gun end, and a standard water hose quick disconnect for the turbine end. The remote switch module is also a real time saver, and is a must. The fit and finish on this thing is so gorgeous I almost hated to put paint in it! Even though I used oil based product, the cleaning wasn't too bad at all. I'll be getting the recommend cleaning kit for future cleanings. There are loads of instructional videos available on YouTube that cover every aspect of use and maintenance. The one place I'm still struggling is learning how much to thin my paint, but the included Ford #4 cup and timing chart really helps with the process of thinning and tip selection. I'm looking forward to many years of great finishes! ... show more
