Description

The Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM gravity (MM4) system includes all the same features as the Mini-Mite 3 PLATINUM but with the use of a stronger 4-stage motor turbine. The MM4 PLATINUM comes with the Fuji T-75G spray gun that features a pattern control knob to adjust the fan size from small to large. Fuji installs the same powerful 4-stage turbine motor as used in the Q4 models. The MM4 PLATINUM does not have the patented noise-reduction feature as seen on the Fuji Q-Models, however the noise level is no more than any other standard HVLP turbine. The MM4 PLATINUM turbine develops approximately 9psi. This allows for less thinning of paints than any 3-stage model. More than enough pressure to spray all known coatings (when properly thinned) and all the newer water-based coatings. The spray gun included with this package is the Fuji T-75G with 600cc gravity nylon cup. The standard air cap set 3 (1.3mm) is for the use of general purpose fine finishing. Easy to maintain. Perfect for professional or beginner. This is an industrial-rated machine at an unbeatable price. Heavy-duty metal case with gun holder. Portable and powerful. The system includes the Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM turbine, 25ft Hi-Flex hose, T-75G non-bleed spray gun with 600cc cup, viscosity cup, cleaning brush, wrench and 24 page user manual. What’s new in the Mini-Mite PLATINUM Series? The Fuji Spray Heat Dissipation Chamber: Fuji Spray has designed a unique method of removing any heat build-up from the turbine case. Excess heat is channeled to a Heat Dissipation Chamber located at the rear of the case. Fuji Spray Noise Reduction Covers: The Mini-Mite PLATINUM turbines are equipped with a method to reduce noise. The Noise Reduction Covers house the Filters. This unit is for North American 120V plug only. For 220V capacity, please contact Fuji Spray directly. • Amazing Craftmsanship and Quality
Style: Spray System
I recently bought the Mini-Might 4 and first of all I'd like to express how well made and solid the ENTIRE system is. The hose connections, the machined gun parts, the ease of assembly, and the engineered quality all scream, "NOT AMERICAN MADE!" Which means no plastic gimmicky parts or weak elements designed to break. I've been professionally painting for nearly 30 years and have used (just about) every product and different spray systems under the sun. I was skeptical to buy this HVLP system to spray Benjamin Moore Advance paint because (supposedly) airless systems are better for spraying latex and I have mostly used airless systems to spray latex. I didn't want to use an airless indoors on trim/cabinets and my old HVLP/compressor system is unreliable and needs to be taken out to pasture. So, I bought this system for a high-end paint job that involved super fancy: trim, crown molding, baseboards, door casings, doors, pain in the ass windows with a million recesses and grooves, and 850 sq ft of kitchen cabinets. TONS OF TRIM that would have taken me a SOLID week to brush and roll 3 coats...1 coat of primer and 2 coats of color. I thinned down the paint to about 6%, used the 1.8 mm spray tip and had ZERO problems with the paint atomizing and leaving a super fine finish. I was completely blown away with the ease of use and the steady flow of paint that laid out incredibly smooth and even. WOW!!! My first lap around (not cabinets) took almost 3 hours to primer. The second lap took 2.5 hours and my 3rd lap took 2 hours. The end result was IMMACULATE and flawless compared to a bazzillion dips into a cut-pot. My wrists happily thanked me and bought me a celebratory 6-pack of beer. Work smarter, not harder! And after nearly 30 years of painting, I leveled up my game with this investment. This system is well worth every penny and it already paid for itself on it's first job. I couldn't be happier! ... show more

  • If only I were as good a painter as this setup seems to be...
Style: Spray System
I'm a novice painter, but journeyman welder in the construction trades (ie. I have some mechanical and hand/eye skills); so weight this review accordingly. The Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM has worked as advertised. It seems very solidly built and meets my expectations for the quality I expected when ordering. The hose connection does heat up on my machine; but never to the point that I couldn't touch it bare handed when finished painting. The noise level is less than my Ridgid 14 gal wet/dry vacuum, when side by side. Based on other reviews, I expected the machine to be louder and considered buying the 'quiet' version; but I'm pleased with my Mini-Mite 4. Clean up is faster and easier than the airless systems I've used in the past. After 5 or 6 uses I did have one mess from a dried paint glob keeping the spray tip needle from fully seating. It was from either poor cleaning or not straining the paint, either way I've not had the same problem since. I plan on ordering the 6" whip hose. The hose provided with the unit is fine for 90% of what I'm doing, but a more flexible one would make things easier when painting close to the ground. I'm repainting oak kitchen cabinets. Using F.P.O.E Primer & Hollandlac oil based marine enamel, thinned to Fuji Specs (Ford #4 vis cup). I have applied around 10 coats of various paints (primer, top coat) on different parts of the project (baseboards, trim, crown, cabinets, cabinet doors). Every time I have improved the application of paint and reduced the number of my mistakes (repair/sanding needed between coats). Its starting to look good. Obviously there is a learning curve & I'm definitely improving, if only I were as good a painter as this setup seems to be... ... show more

  • Absolutely phenomenal performance, Raail, Halo, Plastidip, liquid wrap, and traditional autopaint!
Style: Spray System
Damn, I don't even know where to begin on this one. I'm going to keep this initial review pretty short. I have yet to shoot anything that's wood with this, but I am going to try my hand at it likely this weekend, bought a few small 1/2 pint samples to try out. I bought this for the purpose of spraying Liquid Wrap products on cars, wheels, and anything else I can get my hands on to spray. The unit is VERY powerful, and can spray pretty much anything without thinning it out as long as you use the correct tip. It atomizes the material extremely well with almost literally no effort by you. The unit doesn't run into any heat issues in my spraying, the air is always just normal luke warm air (not hot warm, just regular barely warm air which is awesome). The noise level is roughly the same as a shop vac or quieter, depending on where you put it, it can be almost inaudible. (hint: grab a remote and put it away from you for silence). I don't need or wear hearing protection with it, but if I ever did, then it would be very minimal. I am curious to know how much quieter that Q4 is after seeing the youtube comparisons, amazing it could be as powerful and even quieter?!?! The unit is VERY small and lightweight which was shocking to me. Be sure to secure the hose fully on the unit so it doesn't come off. I've never had an issue with it loosening or removing itself from movement, just grab a wrench or pliers to make sure you thread it on there properly. Keep the unit away from wherever you're spraying so you don't gum up the filters. The hose itself is very flexible in my opinion, and I very rarely used the flex hose at ALL when I first started using it, only started using it later on when I wanted some extra length on it. The gun itself is of a VERY high caliber, and is very easy to clean. I had no issues with the top leaking, it's very simple to put on, I always put it on and turn it backwards to line it up, then turn it normally to tighten. It doesn't take very much at all to secure it, maybe a quarter turn or so. Never had a leak, never had a problem. I bought the 0.8, 1.0, 1.3, 1.5, and 1.8mm spray tips (I test everything lol) to go with the gun especially as they're all the same cheap price of about $55. USE THE VISCOSITY CUP provided, don't waste material trying to see which tip to use, or how to approach whatever you're spraying. It takes seconds, and makes sure that everything you do is consistent. It'll save you troubleshooting later, and make sure everything is the same every day, every temperature. I like using the 1.3mm tip for spraying Plastidip and Raail products (Airwrap and Protek). The plastidip I thinned it out just a little more than out of the 'ready to spray' gallon can, I use Naptha for that until it runs through the velocity cup at roughly 10 seconds which is a few seconds quicker than normal. It lays out GLORIOUSLY smooth when you set it up right with a little knowledge. Depending on temps I can see going up in tip size and moving faster, but if you just wanted one tip, I can see just going with the 1.3mm and adjusting speed/thinner depending on where you're spraying. Raail products spray even sweeter through it because they're thinner by default and lay so nicely anyway. Man I love the Raail stuff, it's just sooooooooooo good. The T75G is a very high level build spray gun. My only decent gripe with the gun is the fan adjustment on the side. It works just fine, doesn't come loose or move, it's just so small of a range that you have, so you have to move in very small increments which produce big changes. It's totally an ease of use thing, and not even close to a deal breaker, just something to pay attention to when dialing in the fan pattern. I have found that it sprays the nicest if you bring the fan down juuuuust a little bit so the pattern comes out super even. It's a damn good spray gun, 2nd best in the world in my opinion. Be sure to buy some sort of oil to lube up the moving parts since it doesn't come with any. Lube up the threaded areas a little bit, lube up the needle itself from back end to about 3/4 of the way down the shaft (don't get it on the needle tip duh lol). The trigger pull is good if a little on the shorter side, not SHORT, just shorter than what I was used to is all, still very good, also something you should lightly lube up periodically. Take care of your gun, and it'll take care of you. I also have the Apollo 7500GT spray gun which is in my opinion the absolute best turbine spray gun in the universe. You can use that or any other turbine spray gun with this unit, you can also use the Apollo spray tips from that gun with the sweet Fuji T75G spray gun. You cannot however use the spray tips or needles without modification. They will fit into the gun, but the apollo needles are longer on the back end, and the length of the threaded portion of the nozzle is different as well. Just use the aircaps instead if you need even more atomization. I own aircap A and B (not the High Solids ones since I already have the regular Fuji caps which are that style). If you use a different spray gun than the Fuji gun, the gun stand on the turbine won't hold it because the diameter may be slightly different, but the hose and all will be perfect. The hose has a valve on the end where you can adjust the amount of air that's coming out of the unit. It's pretty effective to cut down on the already super low overspray, but there are no markings on it if you're looking for super specific adjustment. I do wish there was a dial on the unit instead so you could just turn down the turbine speed instead of choking it off at the hose, no biggie, majority will be running it flat out anyway. I would absolute buy this unit again, same with the phenomenal spray gun. I have been looking at one of the Apollo turbine units, but ONLY because of the ability to have a digitally controlled turbine/psi adjustment. This little Fuji is fantastic. Okay, so I wasn't as short on the review as I thought lol. I couldn't help it, I really really really like this unit. I know a number of other people doing liquid wraps that are now using these units as well. The price is awesome and the quality is amazing. ... show more

  • Now I must paint EVERYTHING!
Style: Spray System
I wanted a system that would allow me to paint everything from cabinets to vehicles. Now, I'm new to painting, and I've just begun using my new Mini-mite 4... but I feel confident that with the correct parts, I'll be able to do it all. So far I've sprayed Killz Bath&Kitchen thinned with distilled water and with the addition of Floetrol at 8:1:1 using a 1.8 and a 2.0mm tip. I got better results with the 2.0, laying down one light and then 2 medium wet coats. OK, about the machine. While I'm new to painting, and therefore cant make the comparisons that a professional could... I feel like I received a quality product. The unit has a nice weight, but isn't heavy; I feel comfortable carrying it from one area to the other with the hose attached. The gun appears very well made - though I wish it came standard with the aluminum gravity feed cup. The issue I have with the plastic one is minor (you can accidentally release the built up pressure by squeezing the cup just a tiny bit). Not a big deal really as I intend to get a 3M PPS system eventually. I wasn't sure if the Q4 would be much quieter than the Mini-Mite, but I'm happy I didn't pay the extra $. Is it loud if I'm standing next to it? Yes. Am I often standing next to it? No. That said, my projects include carpentry, mechanics and metal fabrication... so, I'm accustomed to loud noises. I'm also used to wearing hearing protection, so If I have the Mini-Mite in a confined space or nearby my work area, I can just put on some ear muffs. I didn't get the whip hose because I thought maybe I could make one for less $. Turns out it wouldn't be much cheaper to make my own, and would just take up time I'd rather use working on a project. I've been painting with just the main hose, and while it can start to feel heavy... I think that has more to do with the weight of the paint and the gun combined than with the hose. The work I've done so far includes priming some baseboard and door trim during a bathroom remodel as well as priming a cabinet I built. I'll get around to applying the actual paint soon, and I anticipate that the performance will be great. The primer I sprayed evened out nicely and looks really good. I put off this bathroom project for so long because I was dreading painting all the trim and the vanity with a brush; I don't have the skill to get a good looking paint job with a brush. Not only does the Mini-Mite get me a nice smooth finish on my current project, I feel confident that it will allow me to expand my painting adventures into other areas! So, thanks! ... show more

  • Wow!! great quality
Style: Spray System
This is a great unit!! Quieter and more powerful than I expected. I'm coming from a lower end campbell hausfeld unit which, did ok but the gun was a POS. This unit seems actually quieter than my 2 stage CH turbine and has double the pressure. I was immediately struck by the quality of the gun when I felt it and even more so when I took it apart to clean it. Fit and finish are very nice and I like how it adjusts very similar to my compressor driven HVLP guns so there was almost no learning curve. I really like how you can turn the nose piece to change the direction of the pattern without unscrewing the cap. This may seem a bit trivial but coming from the campbell gun where you had to unscrew the cap every time and then make sure it was seated in the right position was a pain in the butt. The Campbell Hausfeld gun had a series of detentes in the cap system where if you wanted to spray a narrow pattern you had to position the air cap diagonal so there was literally only two sizes of fan... wide vertical and horizontal and narrow. The fuji gun is fully adjustable in between which is lovely. Just watch out because the knob only turns about a quarter turn so you only have to make very small adjustments to make a big impact on the pattern. This was the only real major difference between it and my compressor guns. The turbine does get very warm rather quickly and down right hot in some places but I guess that's the nature of these. even after using it for a while I still don't feel warm air coming out of the hose like I did with my campbell which I thought a bit odd but I guess since it has a longer hose, maybe it just dissipates better. I actually had to account for that when spraying certain coatings with my CH because of the warm air, the coatings seemed to thin out a bit more the longer I had the unit going...especially the water based coatings. they did dry faster though which was nice sometimes. The hose that the unit comes with is excellent. By the look of it in the picture, it looks to be like a garden hose so I was expecting it to be a bit stiff but its VERY flexible. I actually purchased the whip hose from fuji too at the same time and although I haven't used it yet, it actually feels stiffer than the larger hose. I don't have any problems with the cup leaking as some of the other reviewers had noted. this cup functions very similar to one I had for my campbell gun in that it doesn't need but about a quarter turn to fully lock up and if you happen to get it off kilter a little bit I could see how one could have problems. I usually put it on and actually turn it counter clockwise first until it sort of clicks and then tighten it. this ensures that you are on the right path and don't cross thread it. one more thing and I'm done. I really like how the fuji nozzle sets are not ridiculously expensive like some others. I was looking at some apollos I believe where the nozzle/cap/needle sets were like $80 compared to around $50 for the fuji's. still not cheap but at least a lot more reasonable...especially if you're buying a couple of them like I did. all in all I am very happy with this unit and would recommend it Fuji 2804-T75G Mini-Mite 4 - T75G Gravity HVLP Spray System ... show more

  • Top notch spray system
Style: Spray System
I wanted a HVLP spray system mainly for finishing woodworking projects because I never achieve the results I'm looking for with a brush (or the cheap spray system I tried). I was originally looking at the Mini-Mite 2 since, as a hobbyist, I had trouble justifying the expense, and the MM 2 was probably all I needed. Well, after a lot of reading and research, I decided that since I will only make this investment once, why not go for broke and get a system with much greater capability in case I ever decide to use it. So I bought the Mini-Mite 4. Yes, these are rather expensive systems for the occasional user, but, so are the equally-performing competitors. I have yet to spray anything solvent based since it's winter here in WI and I don't have an explosion-proof exhaust fan. The waterborne finishes I've sprayed, though, turned out phenomenal! The Fuji really is all that. I found that using it requires a short learning curve (for me, at least). Practicing spraying plain water on cardboard helped with technique, as did the plethora of you tube videos and books available. If I had to give one piece of advice - use the viscosity cup. It takes a lot of the guesswork out. Also, if you plan on spraying different finishes, make sure you have the proper air caps for the work you are doing. Some considerations. Even though it's a "complete system", it becomes more complete with a few important accessories. The cost really adds up. The whip hose, cleaning kit, and additional air caps are pretty much a must, I would say. I would also recommend the 2qt. pressure pot. I just love it. Since I have the T75G gravity gun, I have to be careful how I angle the gun when I spray. Also, it's kind of heavy and clumsy having that cup on top of the gun. If you get the siphon cup gun, you would have similar issues. The pressure pot setup allows you to spray in any direction, takes the weight of the finish off the gun, not to mention the cup which always seems to get in the way - especially when finishing furniture- and allows you to spray much longer without worrying about the cup running out. To me, it was well worth the extra two-fifty+. Of course, now we are well over a grand, so the expense adds up. But you end up with a top of the line spray system that should last a very long time with care. you'll also have a system that will put a quality finish on just about anything, including auto body work. My pros: High quality spray system Lays down a beautiful finish All the adjustability you would need. Made in North America. Excellent customer support. Prompt, helpful and responsive. My cons: Expensive, at least for a casual user. Whip hose and cleaning kit not included. I was tempted to deduct a star because I think the whip hose and cleaning kit should be part of the package, but I didn't because that is only my opinion and the Fuji 2804-T75G Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM is a really nice system. ... show more

  • Great little paint spray system Great little paint spray system
Style: Spray System
Used the Fuji Mini-4 Platinum to spray thick latex on a custom dog kennel I was building. I ran it on full pressure, and while the paint didn’t look great going on at first, it leveled out nicely once it dried—so overall, I’m happy with the results. Part of the rough start was my fault—I forgot to remove the internal filter, so that’s on me. The build quality seems to be quite good. The gun feels solid but not too heavy, which makes it comfortable for longer sessions. The air line, on the other hand, is thick and a bit unwieldy—definitely spring for the flexible whip hose if you want easier handling. The gun is a standard gravity feed design and easy to get the hang of. One thing to note: the air cup builds up pressure to help push paint into the mixing cap. Be sure to bleed off any air before opening the paint cup, or you might get a surprise paint splatter. It’s not too loud (especially when used outside), and I’m looking forward to testing it with polyurethane next. My biggest gripe is the air control valve. It’s easy to accidentally bump, which affects air pressure and consistency while spraying. My automotive guns have a proper pressure regulator, and I wish Fuji had included something similar here. All in all, it’s a solid sprayer that performs well. ... show more

  • Works As Designed
Style: Spray System
So far so good. I'm new to spraying but it if you read the instructions and familiarize yourself with the adjustments, it all makes sense and works as designed. My first project is to spray on and wipe off stain on some oak cabinets with a .8mm air cap set. Then I will be spraying clear poly. Also I plan to spray latex on some doors with a 1.8mm air cap set. I'm sure I will find other uses as well. It's a beautiful unit. It just looks like quality. Even the gun casting is polished to a mirror finish. The variety of air cap sets and information that Fuji makes available is wide ranging and useful. UPDATE: 7/26/18 I love this thing! I had 5 windows replaced with Marvin aluminum clad wood windows. Some oak and some douglas fir. I sprayed the stain and clear. I use water based General Finishes products so I can spray in my garage. Even a half way decent stain job looks like a piece of furniture after 3 coats of clear. There's no way I could do as good a job using a brush. So glad I got it. I like the fact that I don't have to mess with a compressor (even though I have one) and worry about moisture problems, etc. The air is nice and dry and the spraying is consistent. Also, I can usually get away with just running water through it between 2 hr dry times without having to take it all apart each and every time to clean it. It is fairly tolerant of this and saves time. When I take it apart to clean after 3 coats of clear over 5 hours, it has some hardened product in it, and it amazes me that it still sprayed so well. Would buy again. UPDATE: 12/12/20 Got around to spraying a door with latex. Thinned it slightly per instructions for using gravity cup. It went on very thick with a 1.8 nozzle set but it laid out nice and looked good. So much easier than doing 2 coats with a brush. However, a 1.5 nozzle set might have been better.... I had some leakage between the nylon cup and lid causing the material to drip on my projects while I sprayed. I contacted Fuji support and they sent me a new cup! They gave me a choice between another nylon one or an aluminum one. I took the aluminum one which I like much better. The unit is well out of warranty and they helped me out anyway! Those guys are awesome! ... show more
