Super easy to assemble and disassemble. It comes with everything needed to put it together, including a small screwdriver. Light weight but not cheaply made, it is very sturdy. I was afraid the basket end might be heavy but it's not and my 8 year old daughter and 6 year old niece can use it without a problem. We used it to pick apples but I can see how it would work great for softer fruit as well without bruising them. The storage bag that came with it was a great bonus. It will work great to keep all the pieces together when it is not needed. Highly recommend and for the price I'll be buying a couple more. ... show more

I bought this to help an elderly neighbor pick fruit from her fruit trees, but my mom ended up assembling and using before I got the chance and totally appreciated the ease of assembly, the size and its sturdiness. Time consuming to assemble but much better than using a ladder. It was wonderful that the basket came w padding to prevent any soft fruits like pears from being damaged or super bruised. It is a very versatile product and the extension feature was super helpful reaching goodies higher up in the fruit trees rather than using a ladder or trying to tippietoe and over extend possibly hurting ourselves. ... show more

For the first time in 24 years I got peaches. How to pick the ones near the top of the tree, about 12 feet up? This was the perfect solution; I didn't have to risk a copay getting on a ladder to get to the peaches that were near the top. This picker was just the ticket.     • Takes a lot of patience to put the basket together

You will need patience to assemble the metal basket because it takes one hand to hold it and one hand to put the screw into the pole. You have to tighten the bands around the pole BEFORE you can fully tighten the screw. It's a bit tricky so I kept looking at the pictures given. Once it is put together it will pluck fruit from higher branches of my apple trees BUT the bent metal ends of the basket should be a touch longer to really get around the fruit and INTO the basket instead of dropping it on the ground. I could have just used a metal rake! I was able to harvest higher branches of apples so I only took off one star. Patience needed! ... show more

Love it, well made. Easy to use, just picked about 300 guavas from a very high tree. It is a pity that it does no comes with a kit to adapt it to an aluminum extension paint pole. I made one and used it to reach 40 feet high fruits.

    • Can't catch them all.

You can't get some of the apples to break off of the tree and fall into the basket so they end up falling on the ground. It was worth the money though. My tree was so loaded with apples this year that they were in clusters which made it hard to pick without falling.
