This is a christian based curriculum with some optional language arts and geography. The entire curiculum comes with a book list suggestion, spelling words, mapwork, history timeline, family activities, book of writing /poems, student review. Each unit ends with a list of optional assignments that can vary day by day, such as mapwork, read a chapter from a book in the book list, review questions etc, however you don't have to do any of those. You can pick and choose which assignments you would like your student to do. My son does all of the assignments aside from the writing suggestions.
