I bought this Frigidaire 10,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner for my mom in early June when her old one went out - the Texas summer heat quickly kicked in, and it has honestly been a lifesaver. Texas summers can be brutal, and this unit keeps her rooms cool and comfortable even during the hottest afternoons. She says it cools quickly and easily handles the main spaces in her home. The remote control is very convenient, especially for someone who doesn't want to get up to adjust the settings, and the Eco mode helps keep the electricity use reasonable. Another thing she noted was that it's quieter than many window units she's owned in the past. Overall, this has been a reliable, affordable AC unit that does exactly what it's supposed to do. If you're trying to keep a bedroom or medium-sized space cool during intense summer heat, this one is definitely worth considering. ... show more

Had this unit for 2 years now. Works perfectly fine. Easy to use. A little heavy so you really should have a second person to help lift/install if possible. I didn't but managed with no problem. In auto mode it automatically changes its fan speed depending on what it thinks is appropriate. Which is fine but can be a bit loud on high. I don't use the remote so can't really comment, but it does work. Overall, for the price it's a pretty good unit. Like with a lot of window units, the temp display is usually off by a few degrees using auto mode along with eco mode. Mine set to 66 and in a 400sq/ft area that's fairly well insulated, on a 100F day it keeps the entire space around 72 when unit is on the auto plus eco modes. Not a big deal, it's to be expected. Take it out of eco and auto and switch to cool mode only and pick your fan speed, it will keep the temp closer to your actual setting but of course you're using more power. ... show more

It came dented in the back. Should have been packed much better. Was delivered laying on it's side which isn't good for AC window units. However it's working great so far but it's only been 10 days. I got it on sale and for the price it's well worth it. I let it sit for many hours before turning it on after installation. I live in a 32ft. RV and so far I've been keeping the temp at 72 or above and it's been comfy. Air blows well on low cool which I've only been using for now since it's been in the low 80's outside. In Louisiana the summer's get to 102° so hopefully I'll be more comfortable upgrading from a 5,000btu to a 10,000. Noise level is quieter than my last unit which was a GE. I bought two of these units in April of this year and both of them are malfunctioning, I regret buying them. The one unit will not change the temperature from 66 degrees and all the other options like mode and fan speed will not change either. The second unit still lets me change the temperature but the rest of the options do not work, so I cannot change the mode or the fan speed or anything else. They do cool really well which is great but if you cannot change any settings, they are basically worthless. Along with this, they are also very loud. They broke soon after the 30 day return policy with Amazon so now I am dealing with Frigidaire to see if they can send me replacements but that means I need to re-install which is a big pain and I don't trust that they won't break again in a few months time. I would not buy these and I would not buy from this seller either. ... show more

AC arrived on Sat 5/16. I had to have a friend help me get it up the stairs as it was way too heavy for just me. put it in the window the next day Sun 5/17. Directions could have been a bit more clear but overall not too bad of a process and I appreciate that some insulation was included. The first thing I noticed was that it is VERY loud. I have to turn my tv volume up double what I normally do to just be able to hear it. The first day I wasn’t too sure about the cooling but it seems better today - maybe it just needed some time to get working? I’m still considering returning it tho bc it’s so loud and I need it for the room where I work from home. ... show more
