I live in Florida so air conditioning is a very serious business for me. This air conditioner works extremely well. It cools quickly and keeps things nice and chilly. If I want, I can make it straight up COLD too. I’m impressed with how quickly this 12k BTU unit cools my living room. It’s not any quieter than the other units I’ve had but it’s also not any louder. It was simple and quick to set up the WiFi function too. Just make sure you’re on a 2.4ghz network, instead of 5ghz. The app is simple and slick, and I love being able to control the AC from anywhere. I like to turn it on before I leave work so it’s already nice and cool when I arrive home. I can also set custom schedules! This is exactly what I’d been wanting to replace my ten year old AC and I’m thrilled with the purchase. I just moved into my NY apartment. I got the 8,000btu unit. This one is good for cooling a small living room area, bedroom or a small studio. But it does not have the power to cool more than one room especially if there are walls separating them. For that you would need at least 12,000btu unit. This unit is easy to install, comes with the window insulation. Definitely need to pre-drill the holes in your window before installing the screws. But the noise generated from this unit is pretty loud in my opinion. I have to turn my tv up to hear over it. Other than that for the price it’s worth it. ... show more

My buddy had 2 Frigidaire window a/c units he bought in 1984. One just now went out. After 40 years I guess it was about time. The other is still running. He wanted to replace them both with the same units if he could. When I searched online with the old model no. this unit popped up as the current replacement. He had me get two of them. I have never left a review in my life but this one couldn’t be ignored. I ordered this product for over $500. I have bought many window air conditioning units nowhere on the description did it describe it as used and yet it came in a UPS box, with no actual packaging for the AC, and of course because it was loose in said box which I might add, was in really bad shape it was damaged. The coils were damaged and some of the outside parts were scuffed and scratched not for $500 try again. ... show more
