I purchased this light for a short hallway leading to my kids' bedrooms. My handy husband installed it and it looks so nice! I do wish it was LED, but this hall light is not on very often so it should be okay. He did say that it came with some kind of weird electrical connectors that he did not use. Maybe they were for another country's electrical. I used to work for an interior designer and we often ordered this kind of light for 2-3x the cost of this one. This is a gorgeous light at a reasonable price!! I absolutely love it. The directions leave a little to be desired so I just looked up basics ceiling light replacement and it was a breeze. You will need a wire stripper to remove the wire coating from the ends of the wires so that was a bummer but the light is just perfect for my space so can’t take off any stars. ... show more

It works well. Keep in mind that when you put this in your ceiling that there may be a gap left from the previous fixture.. this is an easy cover-up with caulking or other kind of material for something like that. It works great, would highly recommend.

It's gorgeous! I ran my fingers along every raw edge of it because of the reviews that said it had sharp edges. I do not discredit those reviews, but that was not the case with mine. It is beautiful! I installed it in minutes! This fixture is both beautiful and simplistic in its mounting process. I didn't require instructions, but it includes them along with screws and additional options for making it as easy on you as possible. I purchased this in Black, and it is not black by definition. The deep purple and blackish hue work. I am using a bulb well below the 60w max. I first tried an LED bulb (white on the bottom half and normal on the top half), and it felt hot to the touch on that white part after just a minute. That made me uncomfortable. I'm not saying that the advertised wattage is wrong, but I wasn't comfortable with the heat. It is in my kitchen, so rather than freaking out, I fixed the situation by putting a 9w bulb in it.
