I installed this light in a cellar stair well. I am not a novice at installing fixtures. It seems the instructions are geared toward installing this lamp directly into the ceiling. Generally you install onto a ceiling electrical box which I did. Screws are provided for that install type. The outside holding screws are very difficult to line up. If your new to installing lights, the instructions provide no wiring diagram. They give you a connection block, but impossible to connect when standing on a ladder looking at the bottom of the stairs. I was able to install using wire nuts. It looks good, but because of the location, i was not able to thread the second screw to hold the lamp. It is very light weight so it is secure with one. Would not recommend for a novice. ... show more
