I used 3/4" red oak plywood to make some shelves over the weekend, and this blade worked better than I had imagined it would. As you can see in the picture, there was no tear out on the veneer at all, even when I became impatient and pushed the saw a bit faster than I should have. Carbide tips are thick enough for project work, the blade is cheap enough to replace when the time eventually comes (in several years), and even after dozens of quick cuts it continued to perform as well as it did on the first. The science behind the specific patterns cut into the blade eludes me, but they clearly do what they're supposed to as it did not get overly hot. I'll be buying more Diablo blades without hesitation. ... show more

Mirror smooth finish in plywood and hardwoods

I have been using this blade to cut through some 3/4 in plywood, and also some 2x4s. It has done a splendid job so far, with very clean smooth cuts, and also most no chipping on either side. Just make sure you follow all the rules with cutting using a circular saw, like setting the depth right for the material thickness, not rushing the cut but letting the blade/tool do the job, and using a proper guide for the saw so you dont have to correct a wandering blade. I even cut some 45 degree bevel cuts in long sheets of plywood for making joins and it did a great job with no binding at all. EDIT on 7/20/2016: I have now owned this blade for over 2.5 years. I am working on some very hard ash hardwood that is 1 inch thick for a tabletop. Yesterday I set the saw to cut a 15 degree bevel using this blade around an already cut edge and the results were near perfect. See the attached pictures for the clean wafer thin wedges I got cut out. I have made about a 100 cuts with this blade in the time I have owned it. Never resharpened. And the results are still this good! The only time I had an issue was some binding while cross cutting some solid red oak that was over 2 inches thick. That was more my fault than the blade's, I never should have used it for that purpose. ... show more

Works as described. Thin kerf, smooth cuts. This arrived well packed, in a thick cardboard envelope surrounded by plenty of bubble wrap. But without any hard plastic retail packaging or instructions.

Cut is excellent, not sure about durability

Cut is excellent, however.. it appears a bit fragile due to thinness. Time will tell on durability. Cost appears a little on the high side but it may be a case where you get what you pay for.

Wow! NO chips cutting laminated MDF.

I needed a way to cut laminated medium-density fiberboard (MDF) shelves, which most retailers use for most of their furniture these days. Previous attempts with the 7 1/4-inch, 40-tooth general-purpose blade left me with chips even after taping the cut line in advance and scoring it with a utility knife. I purchased the Freud Diablo (D0760X) 60 fine-tooth blade, and what a difference! Every cut I made was chip-free (note: I did tape it and score the cut lines just to be sure). I could not believe it! I spent $20, and this purchase was worth every penny. I decided not to opt for cheaper versions of this blade and instead stuck with the reviews. It did not disappoint. Pro tip: Let the blade do the cutting, slow and steady. Don't force the saw like you're ripping through plywood or other materials. A+ blade - 100% recommended. ... show more
