I purchased a size 8 and a 10. Other reviews stated the skirt ran big and it does. My 9 y/o daughter generally wears a 10. It was huge. The size 8 fit great once I made the waistband smaller. For reference she is 4' 7"/73 lbs. She is tall for her age and the skirt hits her in the middle to lower part of her knee. The material is great. It's a dressier looking material with a some give in it. It was a little wrinkled but that's to be expected during shipping. Very good skirt for a Hermoine Granger Halloween costume! This skirt works very well, because it can be adjusted in both directions to fit as the child grows. Good quality skirt, it fits a bit large on my child (4t) but she is very pettiite. The skirt is adjustable though and we were able to adjust it enough that it fits her great!

    • Great Skirt - Sizing can be tricky
Size: 16 Color: Black
Quality is great. Nice thick fabric. Sharp pleats. Sturdy waistband and zipper. Decently heavy for colder weather, but not obnoxiously heavy for summer. There's also adjustable elastic inside the back waist to make it a bit tighter if needed, even on larger sizes. You can tell in the picture the pleats aren't sewn down, which means there's ample room if you have wider hips. It is long as advertised, and hits right below the knee on me (5'4"). Most pleated skirts are either micro length or too long. I'll end up hemming this since I want something above knee, but this hits exactly where I expected it to. I dropped one star as the sizing is somewhat inconsistent from the size chart. I was concerned after reading reviews it ran big and ordered a 14 (28" waist). It measured exactly 28" and was too small for my 32" waist. I then ordered a 16 (30" waist) and 18 (32" waist). The 16 actually measured 32" and the 18 measured 34". The 16 fit me just perfectly, the 18 was a bit big but easily fixed by adjusting the elastic. I decided to keep both since I liked having a bit of room on the 18 to tuck in a heavy sweater.     • Pleasantly surprised -- good fit for tall, thin 9-year-old

My 9-year-old daughter is quite tall and slim--it's impossible to find bottoms that fit her properly. Things are either too big or too short. I was having trouble finding a uniform skirt that fit her appropriately. I ended up ordering both a size 6 and a size 7 in this skirt, and both are going to work. The 6 is just a *tiny* bit loose in the waist (but will work just fine once she tucks her shirt into it) and hits right above/at the knee. I needed to adjust the waist on the size 7, but it looked fine once I tightened it and hits right at/below her knee. I love that these have the adjustable waists--key feature! The material is also better quality that I expected. I threw them all in the dryer when we got them, and then we washed and dried them after that. The pleats stayed and they seem like they'll hold up well. I also had my 5-year-old kindergartener try on the size 6. I had to adjust the waist for her quite a bit, but it was great in terms of length. And the skirt seems to lay fine even with the waist elastics tightened a bunch. ... show more

    • Good Quality, Speedy Delivery-Sizing Way Off

We were happy with the speedy delivery and the quality of the item, but the sizing is way off. We measured our daughter’s waist, hips etc and ordered accordingly. There was at least a 4 inch difference so if you order, buy at least 2 sizes down. We initially ordered a size 16, returned the item and land we are now ordering a size 12. ... show more
