When we accidently lost the small nut that held the filters in place for our stainless steel French press, I was devastated ... fortunately I found this plunger replacement that has a much better design ... the plate base screws directly into the plunger stem (no small pieces to lose -- hurrah)! It was a slightly smaller diameter than our original, so I ended up using our original filters instead of what came with this unit, but I was thrilled not to have to replace the whole pot. ... show more
