    • Mattress is comfortable, but you can't use your past waterbed equipment with it.

The mattress came quickly. It does not work with traditional waterbed equipment from other manufacturers like Blue Magic for filling and draining. There was a strong plastic scent but it dissipated quickly. Before you try to fill the outer ring with air or the inner lining with water, make sure to pop out all of the openings because it was extremely difficult to get them out to use. When I went to fill it, the hose did not fit well. It seems like it needs another pipe or attachment to go into the water fill valve. It would be much simpler if the valves accepted standard screw-on accessories from other manufacturers and so you can use a traditional hose. I used the Amazon support service, and they were great, but had to put me in touch with the manufacturer to try and see if there was an attachment missing. The manufacturer answered within a few hours which was impressive. Their answer was to send a pic of the hose with more instructions on how to attach. I appreciated the quickness of the response, but the attachment of the hose is just not a good setup. We did manage to get the bed filled by creating my own little attachment to go into the valve. We have slept on the mattress and it is good so far. I was impressed with Amazon's service support and the speed of response from the company. We do like the mattress, but the difficulties of filling and the inability to utilize other attachments will lead me to purchase from a more traditional supplier if I need to buy in the future. ... show more

The fact that this is an airframe waterbed mattress is not mentioned anywhere in the ad copy. A full 5 inch border of air holds the water in place, effectively reducing the waterbed to 55 x 75 instead of 60 x 80, a 27% reduction. Everyone should know this before buying.
