A Solid Graphing Calculator for Students of All Levels
Color: Black
The Franklin Scientific Graphing Calculator is a dependable choice for both beginner and advanced students, offering a user-friendly experience with excellent functionality. This calculator features three operating modes—scientific, graphing, and a specialized graph mode for 20 built-in graphs—making it versatile enough for high school and college courses. The graphing capabilities are impressive, especially for the price. While it may not rival more expensive models like the TI series, the 20 preloaded graphs are more than sufficient for most users, offering a smooth interface and fast calculations. The protective cover is a thoughtful addition, offering durability and portability. The design is sleek and compact, making it easy to carry around. The buttons are well-spaced, though some may find the layout slightly cramped if they have larger hands. For students learning the basics or tackling higher-level math, this calculator is a great option. Its performance is solid, and it offers enough features to cater to a wide range of subjects. However, it could benefit from more advanced graphing options and a larger display for those who need a more robust tool. Nonetheless, for its price and functionality, it’s a great choice for students.

Just ok
Color: White
I got a syntax error half the time I used it. The quality of the product looks fine, so maybe it just need further setting up. Does have graphing functions and the screen size was average. Its an ok value for the price... if you can figure out how to fix those syntax errors.

Versatile, Fast, Educational, Difficult to see keypad functions or manual
Color: White
The media could not be loaded. I have no experience at all with scientific / graphing calculators. They were not commercially available until about 15 after I graduated from college. I have always been interested in them though. This reasonably priced Franklin unit looked like a good unit to learn on and so I ordered it. The calculator appears to be well-made, and it comes with a secure cover that protects the keyboard when not in use. It also comes with a 90-page manual and there are some nice sample graphing calculations on the inside of the cover. Unfortunately, the text of the manual is so small that I can just barely read it, even with my reading glasses on. I have to use a magnifying glass and very bright light. This was very frustrating. No Franklin website is provided with the calculator. I did an internet search and found a nearly identical (almost word for word) manual in PDF format (CATIGA scientific calculator) and was able to print it out. This PDF is very easy to read. Now it was easy to demonstrate and learn about order of calculations because by inputting sample problems found in the manual. I am having fun learning how to use this, but the going is slow. One other major impediment is the very small text on the keyboard. Most keys have a major function printed on the top. There are alternate functions for each key. Those functions are written in red or blue text which is very difficult to read. For example, if you want to use the FUNCT key as needed for example problem no. 1 that is inside the calculator cover, you first press SHIFT and then the G-solve key which has 'Funct' written in red above it. Eventually, you will memorize where the common key alternate values are. As an aid, I have printed out a closeup photo of the keyboard. That photo is included in this review. So, in summary, I will continue to have fun learning with this device. If you are already familiar with such a calculator and have good eyes, this may be perfect for you. Finally, the graphing function is really cool, even though it fills up less than half of the already small screen.
