This is actually our second one of these. Our first one had been used for many fishing trips over the last several years. It had developed a hole in the bottom. Although we were able to mend the old one, we went looking for the same thing as a replacement. We just used the new one on our first fishing trip of the season and it didn't disappoint. It's easily handled for netting a fish, but what we like best is that the hooks (including treble hooks) don't get 'hooked' into the net! ... show more

It was a great product until about a year the handle at the end started leaching the black pigment out. Every time I touch that handle my hand is covered in black powder. If this net costed 20 bucks I'd be fine with it, but this thing costs over a hundred bucks. Don't buy.

    • Be very cautious of an inherent design flaw.

Very nice look and weight with great functionality and one Huge Flaw. The twist locking mechanism is not riveted, or fused to the handle (just notched/dimpled). This can easily cause the back of the handle to detach from the twist lock and pull completely out. This would cause one to not only lose the fish, but the entire hoop and front assembly. Glad that I tested it twice before committing, because a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. This net is like 9 cast iron rings connected with a cheerio. ... show more
