This net is even better thn the last version. 1) The way the netting attaches is even more durable thn the last version. 2) The handle has a new style attach point on the end, rather than just a cord attached to the end of that handle, which allows you to clip it to a retractor. 3)The new handle is a durable plastic that has an slight ergonomic angle making netting easier 4) There is now flotation woven into the very top of the netting ... show more

Great light weight net for the price. I fly fish A LOT, and use this net clipped to the back of my vest approximately two times a week or more. I'm not fond of the slight curve in the handle but for the price that is the only slight drawback. The net is deeper then most similarly priced nets and the plastic/rubber style mesh means my flies don't get stuck in the net. All in all very happy with this purchase. ... show more

I trout fish and I use the net every time. The quality of the net and frame is excellent. Pair this with a nice magnetic release and you will enjoy it even more. I recommend this to everybody over wooden framed nets.

Frabill's landing nets are the best deal in the fishing industry. They are light, durable, and available in multiple sizes. And don't be confused by the sizes. The main designation is always the hoop size, sans handle, the length of which is given separately. The 9x20" "square" (actually a rectangle with rounded corners) is great for stream fishing for trout--particularly if you're traveling or hiking--as it takes up much less room than a teardrop hoop but can still accommodate a 20+" fish.
