So this was great for use in areas where I would have had to walk into a ditch full of water. The problem comes if you have small areas to reach. Our land bridge was old and just sucked up the stain so the new wood may be different. I also tried a bushy roller and it just wasted the stain. Every once in awhile you buy tool that you can't imagine doing without once you purchase it-this is one of those tools. We had a large deck 8X50' spanning two side of our house. It has taken days to stain this monster in the past. This year I considered buy a sprayer then saw this. It solved many of the problems I had: coverage and getting the stain into the cracks between the boards at a every afforble price. Brush is a dream to use. I used a handle from an old paint roller and I was in business. The job usally takes three days but it was done in less that a day! The brush held up well and still looks new, with no shedding of bristles, and cleaned up easily.     • Where have you been all my life.
This brush will save enormous time while performing wonderfully. It gets into cracks and uneven surfaces quickly. Most stain applicators also get thrown away after use because of being torn up or not worth the time cleaning. This cleans up quickly and still looks new after using it on a rough dock. I used this brush with Ready Seal brand cedar stain on the floor of a two level deck. Dipping it directly into the 5 gallon bucked I pulled 5-6 feet, pushed back, and moved on. It never over covered because oil based stain is thin. The stain just soaked into the stripped, bleached wood. The brush is thick, but just soft enough that it does not spatter. I drew stain up to 1/2 the width of the boards connected to the house. It works. And I do wish I had this all the years I sprayed with airless sprayer (a dumpster fire) or hand painted with a 4" deck brush (my knees were wrecked for weeks) or a pump up sprayer (waaaaay too much pumping). Great quality and did the job well. No complaints. Had a few hairs that came off towards the end but I stained a lot of decking. So was happy with the result for 8hrs of work.
