The lock is located at the bottom of the units door. It is not very well made. If you pull on the door while it's locked the top opens to a gap of about 1/2 inch. You could easily pry the door open with a screw driver or bar. I would think a system like this would have a more efficient set up. i had to use the unit instead of sending back because of time constraints and nowhere to put the wine while sending back. So basically I am stuck with it. I find the rest of the system although very new is performing according to expectations otherwise. ... show more

We really like the FOVMI 20" wine cooler. It fits out kitchen, is attractive and stacked correctly holds plenty of wine. What we like the best is how the wooden shelves stay in place and do not fall down on he wines below. We also like the fact it came ready to go with "no assembly required." Larry

I was a bit sceptical at first, but gave them benefi of a doubt. They have met and exceeded all of my expectations! They stood behind their product! I am generally happy with the wine storage cooler. However, I store only red wine and its maximum temperatures are a little lower than I'd like. I prefer to store my wine at around 60°F (15.5°C). This dual-temperature cooler allows you to set the bottom portion for 54-68°F (12-20°C), which is fine, but the range of the top portion is 41-54° (5-12°C), which is cooler than I’d like. The electrical cord was 6” shorter than my previous wine cooler, which was a concern but my electrician assured me it was OK to use an extension cord as long as it was grounded (three-prong). I think I can fit no more than 42 full-size bottles, which is fine for me. I like the wooden shelves. It’s quiet and attractive. ... show more

This unit has never been super quiet. We bought this in May of 2023 it's now Nov 2023. We did have some ice buildup in the back. The door has never been left open and seems to shut completely. I like the look and it seems to cool well. I like the dual temperature settings.

First wine cooler. We needed a really fast delivery. And they promised it overnight, as opposed to January and that was actually the biggest consideration. Since the reviews were overall favorable and we liked the look of the product, we took the plunge. Delivery did come overnight; slight ding on the metal frame but not a deal breaker; setup easy, and controls simple and intuitive, which is a good thing since the English translation of the instruction manual is terrible. Very nice look, big enough for our very modest collection of red and white wines. (We got the 51 bottle capacity). Not turned off by the fact it doesn't hold that number. It should be obvious that's just an estimate since bottles come in different sizes. It is as advertised and as other reviews have noted-- very quiet! And so gets a five rating for noise level. However, we got the dual temperature zone and thus far (after the obligatory 24 hour wait before turning on, and after a few days up and running) the temperature control is not perfect. It is best described as an approximation. We set the temperature for the whites at 48 degrees, and it is anywhere from 1-4 degrees off when I check the temperature. We set the reds at 60, with the same variability. Have yet to see both zones read exactly as we set the temperatures. So, if you are a stickler for precision and a wine aficionado, probably best to avoid this product as the lack of precision of the temperature control might drive you crazy. Our view is that it's close enough for our taste and certainly better than what we had before. ... show more

So far I am happy with the purchase. However, the listing notes that both zones are capable of the full temperature range, which does not appear to be the case. Or, at minimum there are no instructions on how to change them because the temp range is preset for upper and lower and are limited within the red/white range respectively. ... show more
