I have found that most of the replacement parts that I get which were manufactured in China are very close fitting, but just not quite exact fitting. In the case of this motor, which by the way, does run quietly, and provides more than adequate airflow, unfortunately is just not made to exacting tolerance standards. For one, the motor case itself is not made the same shape as the original motor. So, when you go to replace the HVAC housing cover, it does not seat properly, as the motor case of the replacement unit lacks two very prominent, and very important indentations that are on the original GM blower motor. While this may not seem important on the face of it, the HVAC housing cover has two male protrusions that are made to seat into those two missing indentations. Since the cover has to be hermetically resealed with sealing material due to the case enclosure being in the engine compartment, the lack of proper fitment makes what would normally be a 10 minute or so job a nightmarish 2-hour RVT laden mess. In order to create a good seal, you have to do the top half, hold it in place while the RTV sets up, and then apply pressure to the bottom half, and hold it in place until it sets up adequately. Then, you have to go all the way around again to make certain that you have no tears in the sealant. If the HVAC housing is not properly sealed, you will have gasses and God only knows what else entering the HVAC system. The mounting screw holes were also all off by just a bit. Had I known this item was made in China, I think I would have spent a little more on a different unit. ... show more
