I needed to replace a tub spout in a remodel and wanted to adapt the copper pipe, the end of which was pretty messed up, to something in better shape. This adapter did a better and easier job than I expected it to do. I'm sure a lot of that is because the adapter comes set for copper pipe and apparently for threaded you remove the a bit with a gasket, Anyway, after cutting a bit of copper pipe off I carefully attached the adapter with the retaining ring and set screw, being very careful not to crush the relatively soft copper pipe. Once that was done all I had to do was screw on the new tub spout and clean up! ... show more

Not NPT (National Pipe Thread) so it does not function for me or fit any of my tub spouts. So, not very universal in my case. Perhaps it will fit your tub spout so, I will say that the quality is fine and it would be easy to install. It does come with O-rings for a quality seal and does seem to be good value. ... show more

I had a tub faucet set up that i lost the connection to the copper pipe. This was a lifesaver. It was very easy to install, it fit over my half inch copper very well, and it connected to my faucet/tub spout very well also. Can't forget to put the ring where it keeps everything in place. I have been getting some water getting back and coming down through the overflow drain. I'll have to check to see if i missed a step, which is likely, since everything felt snug. I probably missed a seal. I found this to be a great price to resolve my problem. ... show more

This is a great kit for almost any situation. I have recently finished a bathroom remodel and this was one of the last pieces I needed to make the tub spout I wanted work with the piping I had.
