I loved how this came in an approximate 12"x12"x2" vacuum pack! It pops open and takes a little time to straighten out but is super comfortable and soft. It velvety and smooth to the touch. Its 100% Polyester and smells a little at first since it is all synthetic, but that will air out in a day or so. The bottom has a non slip layer so the rug stays in place (see pics). Highly recommend for the price! TIP: Allow 3-5 days for the rug to fully open. I actually used a steamer from the reverse side to gently ease along the creases.

This is a soft rug. I have wood floors and it stays put when you step onto it. It will slip some if your scooting your feet around. Normal walking across it is fine. It did shed some when it arrived. I put it through the dryer on low heat 2 cycles and it got almost all the loose fibers out. It still looks great, no bare patches. It feels nice when stepping out of bed. It is lightweight. I think it could be put into the washer without any problems. It fills out a bare space nicely.

While this rug feels really soft, the smell it has is horrid. The first few days it was almost toxic, I'm unsure if I just got used to the smell or it has started to simmer down but if I smell more closely it still stinks. The "non-slip" backing does not help this rug stay put on hard floors at all. It does lay down perfectly fine out of the vacuum sealed bag though. Honestly, The 3 stars I gave it were mostly because it's so inexpensive and still soft, but I don't like it.

I really like this rug. I especially like the black color. It was shipped in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag, and gave off a mild chemical smell when I first took it out of the package. This isn't really surprising as it's made almost entirely of plastic–polyester and polypropylene, according to the label. Fortunately, the smell was gone after a day. It's soft, although a little slippery at first to walk on. Hopefully this gets better as it gets more use and/or washed. Upon first removing the rug from the vacuum-sealed package, the rug felt very thin but with most vacuum-sealed stuff, it needs some time to fully expand. The note that came with it suggested 48 hours. After only a few hours I could feel the padding expanding. After a day, all the wrinkles were gone and I could really feel the padding when walking on it. The label says it can be washed in cold or warm water, but must not be put in a dryer. As it's made mostly of polyester, it shouldn't take long to dry if hung outside. This also means that it shouldn't get stained easily or fade as polyester is much easier to clean than say, cotton or wool. Overall, this is a great rug and I'll be using it under my coffee table.

This is a nice rug for the price. I'm not sure why the description says the material is 'faux suede', but it's a very nice polyester 'fake fur' which is extremely soft to the touch. The picture depicting it as 2" thick is a little exaggerated; the fibers may well go up to 2" when standing straight up but they're not dense enough to really look like that. It feels nice on bare feet and is just a little slippery with shoes although that may go away as it wears. I'm not sure how well it would stand up well in a high traffic area, but for a bedroom it's perfect.
