Although the description does state these bags "work with FoodSaver Vacuum Heat Sealing Appliances" (though only if you click on 'more' in the feature list) it was not apparent to me that they are USELESS (because the bags cannot be sealed) if you do not own such own such an appliance. I was so upset when I could no longer get the vegetable steamer bags I was using that I ordered several kinds just to see if they matched up. They didn't - except for this one. It is not designed to be used the way I use it, but it works just fine. Put the veggies in, lay it on its side in the microwave (no way to close it) and cook away! These bags have very strong chemical smell. Omg, how are people using these bags for food? I opened the package, left the content in a metal rack outside under the lanai to air out. The next day, the entire lanai smells. I moved the rack further away from the house and left them there for another week, the smell was still so strong. I threw it away. I just recently updated my Vac Seal machine and Thez are the first I bought, I used them for Broccoli and cheese soup, Chili and Spagetti sauce, I filled them a little over half full (2 servings) while it was cold, fold the top over and used masking tape to hold it and slid in my freezer over night, next day while frozen I vac packed (sealed) it shut and the bags worked wonderfully! When I’m ready I take them out put them in boiling water to heat and it’s ready to serve! No fuss No mess! Thes bags are great! Highly recommend to everyone ... show more

I purchased these at the time I purchased a number of items in bulk, and I want to mention that they work wonderfully. I especially appreciate that the cook times are printed on the side of the bag, making it especially easy to use them. For that reason alone, they deserve five stars. But, if you are considering using them, I want to remind you that these are in essence "steam" bags. I enjoy them most when I blanch and freeze vegetables to be re-used. These can be easily sealed and frozen. It does give time for raw meat, eg. chicken, but I would recommend that you incorporate vegetables or herbs to give your chicken flavor. I normally freeze my chicken before sealing it, since it is often too juicy otherwise to give a good seal. I do recommend them, but suggest that you consider how they are to be used before making your purchase. ... show more

These have been very helpful for creating a stockpile of easy meals for my elderly mother who just had surgery. When I'm not able to provide a hot meal, she can grab something from the freezer and have something that meets her dietary needs. I was able to use this with my Anova food sealer.
