First off, I own both the clear and black/frost version of this case. I originally bought the clear version because I wanted to see my phone and its cool little LED notification dealie thing in the back, but I quickly noticed something: the clear version's back plate is a fingerprint MAGNET. Like, horrendously so. Wiping down daily at a minimum. I also wasn't a fan of the strange pattern that was on the bumper of the case that wrapped around the edge. So I decided to buy the black/frost model to see if it looks better. And it most certainly does. The black bumper doesn't show any strange patterns or anything as its opaque. The rear frosted back plate might not be as transparent as the clear version, but it doesn't attract fingerprints from across the room. AND you can still see your cool little notification LEDs that are on the back of the phone! The only reason I wouldn't say get the black/frost version is if you have the Dusk or Moonlight version of the phone. Dusk and Moonlight have a transparent back, so you'd lose that aesthetic. But if you have the Shadow (my version) or Lightspeed version, you should be fine with the black/frost. Granted the Lightspeed version is solid white, so your opinion might vary on using a black/frost case on an all white phone. I've yet to drop my phone (and hopefully never will), so I can't comment too much about the durability of the case and how well it will protect my phone. But it feels sturdy and holds well in the hand. So yeah, at least in my opinion, if you're in the market for this case, the frosted one is my pick as long as you're willing to deal with having a not-as-transparent design. ... show more

The case is great. Clean and clear so the design can still be seen. Fits nice a snug with all buttons and the game switch easily accessible. Vents are obstruction free so the cooling function works. Speakers and bumper triggers are not covered so they are fully functional. My only issue, and reason for the 4 and not 5 stars is that when trying to use the controller, the bottom of the case is so thick that it won't plug into the USB C all the way. So, I have to remove the case when using the controller which is a pain. Other than that, if you have no intention of using a controller with the phone, you're all set. ... show more

I believe I would be completely satisfied with this case had it come in brand new. I can tell it was used due to scratches on the rear and fingerprints on the inside. Other than that, the case seems like it would provide a very good feel in the hand and preserve the look and feel of the phone itself. Adequate access to all ports and buttons and feels nice to press shoulder buttons as the cutouts provide a nice cup for your fingertips. Would rate 5/5 had it been brand new. ... show more
