I am very happy with this set of two Adirondack chairs! They arrived in pieces but were surprisingly easy to assemble. It took me about 1.5 hours to put both chairs together by myself. Pros: Very Comfortable: The adjustable back and the built-in ottoman make them incredibly cozy. Our family has been spending a lot of time on the deck enjoying the sun in these. Sturdy Design: Once the lock pins are in place, the chairs feel very stable and high-quality. Convenient Features: The cup holders are a great touch and very useful for relaxing outside. Aesthetic: They look beautiful and have really upgraded the look of our deck. One Tip for Assembly: I found the locking pins a bit difficult to push through the holes by hand. I used a hammer to gently tap them in, and that worked perfectly. We love them so much that I’m planning to buy another set! Highly recommend.

I live on a mountain farmstead in the Appalachians of Virginia, and I have a LOT of Adirondack chairs scattered throughout the property in order to take advantage of the mountain views. Some of the chairs that I have are made from wood, some are made of poly lumber, and a few are those cheap polypropylene twenty-dollar big box chairs. The wooden ones, although very nice, are not only expensive but they seem to start to break down after only 4-5 years depending on the type of wood used, unless I periodically re-stain or repaint them. The polypropylene chairs can easily crack and over time they fade and form a white chalky dust on them. I have found that the poly lumber chairs are the best option, with a good compromise between durability, longevity, and fade resistance. Although I was happy to come across this chair, I will say that it is made from the older style HDPE composite lumber that has a bit of a waxy, mealy texture. But the fact that it folds flat and comes with a retractable ottoman at this price means that I am willing to overlook the HDPE construction at this cost. You’ll immediately know that this is not made of wood when looking at it up close despite the faux wood grain. There are better poly lumbers out there that have a more realistic imitation of wood, but those usually come with a much higher price tag. Assembly was straightforward, and it comes with everything you need. However, assembly will go MUCH smoother if you use a 10mm socket wrench. Two of the bolt holes were sized too small and I had to hammer the bolts in with a mallet, so be aware of QC issues that may arise during assembly. Once assembled, this chair is firm yet comfortable. The lean angle is not too severe and it has three adjustment settings that you can change by lifting and pulling on the arms, but no matter what the setting, the back won’t comfortably support my head when I press my head and neck back against it unless I have a pillow behind my head (although this is typical for most Adirondack chairs). The slide out beverage holder under the right armrest holds a can of soda without fear of it getting easily knocked over, and the ability of this chair to fold-up for easy storage is where it shines. The built-in ottoman is permanently affixed but it is retractable for when not in use, and you can extend the footrest with the legs either opened or left flat depending on how you want your legs to rest upon it. When you sit in this chair, there is a little bit of flex to it based on the materials with which it is made and because it is a folder, but it’s nothing too onerous. Be aware that this chair is quite heavy at 25 pounds, so moving it around might be difficult for some folks. But at least you won’t need to worry about it getting blown around or knocked over during a storm. Also be aware that it is rated to hold 350lbs. My wife and I are each around 150lbs, so she can sit in my lap without me worrying about the chair being overstressed and breaking. For the price I think this chair is a good value. If it wasn’t a folding chair, then I would have felt it was a bit pricey for an HPDE chair, but otherwise this should last many years with minimal maintenance.
