I have owned this product for over a year. I am happy with several things about: 1) sturdy well built, 2) age well in the Florida sun, 3) it heavy to avoid being blown over in strong winds 4) its fold to make it store during hurricane. Some slight negatives are 1) the color has faded - I suppose this natural and to be expected, and 2) there are black spots on the exterior that look like mold/mildew. We have tried the typical mold and mildew removers like CLR Mold and Mildew, Oxiclean with Bleach, and straight bleach. No luck on removing the stain! We are looking to see if we can paint them and see if the paint will adhere to the resin wood. ... show more

My Serwall Folding Adirondack Chair arrived a day earlier than planned; the packaging was intact. There was no external damage to the packaging, and it did not appear to have been previously opened and resealed. At the outset I will admit that based on some of the reviews and the experiences reported, I was somewhat leary of the assembly process. I believe I have good mechanical aptitude and proficiency. I chose to assemble the folding chair outside on our picnic table. I thought it would be easier to work at waist level, than to keep bending down and getting back up. I placed a cover on the table in case a part would drop, it would be easier to find. The assembly was straight forward. First read the instructions. Check and double check that you have ALL of the parts. Unwrap the components, check for any damage. All of the components in my kit were clearly labeled with name, an alphabet letter, and either right or left. Other than item K the brace, only one was labeled, but they are identical so it doesn't matter. Lay the parts out right on one side and left on the other. I kept the hardware in the plastic bag after counting, to keep it all in one place. Before actually assembling the chair I found it helpful to put the components together by hand to see how they went together. Paying close attention to where the holes were, and how they aligned with other components. All of my parts had all of the holes drilled where they were supposed to be. I think that if there doesn't seem to be a hole where you think there should be one, re-check the part, it might be misplaced or mis-aglined. I did not use the tools included in the kit. I used a 10MM wrench and 6MM hex key. If you choose to use a driver drill screwdriver, turn the torque all the way to its lowest setting. If the screws are over tightened you might strip the plastic components. I recommend assembling to just hand tight, until fully assembled, then going back and tightening nuts, bolts, and screws snug. If you are going to assemble more than two kits, I think it would be helpful to have two ratchet wrenches, one for the 10mm nuts and one fitted with a 6mm hex.     • Great chair at a reasonable price
What sold me was the price I looked locally and stores wanted $500+ for a chair so when I seen these I was very happy. Its very comfortable and was pretty easy to install with the instructions what wasnt preinstalled has small stickers with a letter to go with the instructions on where to install it. I did have to make a slight modification in the instulation by adding some "Hard-to-Find Fastener 014973171223 Specialty Nylon Washers, 0.250 x 1.250 x 0.062, Piece-10" to all the parts that moved when folding the chair, the polywood on polywood had a bit of resistance to it. It was also scratching up where the two joined, with the washers its now smooth as butter. ... show more

Pros: Have held up very well being outside. Mine are not exposed to direct sunlight all day so take that into consideration. The fact they fold is great for my needs. Can move them or store them somewhere else. Cons: Assembly can be a little tricky. Had to drill my own holes as the factory didn’t drill any. A few where misaligned. Folding and opening can also be tricky. Just need to pay attention and do it slow. ... show more

Chairs are solid and look great by the fire pit. We bought 4 chairs. As of right now, one of the arms have come loose. I contacted company and they mailed out a replacement. We've only had them a month, I hope that they continue to have no other issues. They seem nice at this time!
