  • Great for meetings - great for your career!
Style: Vocaster One
Instantly give yourself more authority in meetings. You’ll be able to hear yourself better, allowing you to keep your train of thought while others try to talk over you. Others will be able to hear you better, even while you speak quietly and calmly. Game changer.

  • Almost exactly what I needed - but this is right for someone
Style: Vocaster Two
I actually liked this a lot. I had been searching for something more simple to replace my Rodecaster Pro 2, which is great itself, but for a solo podcaster doing mostly remote sessions, it was overkill. I landed on trying the Vocaster Two because of the improved sample rate over the PodTrak P4, which protects me in case we expand to more video. I used this for a little over a week on a handful of shows and was enjoying it, however, I wasn’t a fan of using sound pads externally on my iPad. If Vocaster had its own internal sound pads, it would take it to near-perfect territory. I wasn’t a fan of the over-aggressive processing, but I do appreciate that Focusrite now let’s you make adjustments within the software to tame the over-processed presets. One thing that was apparent, at least on my unit, was that even when all processing is off, there is still some sort of high-pass filter that cannot be turned off. I compared this to my other interfaces to be sure, and there is a noticeable amount of bass present on the others compared to the Vocaster. That isn’t necessarily bad - in fact, for those hoping to do little post-processing and using a dynamic mic within 3 inches of their face and battling proximity, that may be a selling point. But I prefer to have the option, which didn’t appear to be - a choice on the Vocaster Two. I’m curious if others experience something similar. Also, when running a TRRS cable to my iPad, there was noticeable feedback when touching the iPad. That is probably a result of the cable itself, but it left me with the option to run the iPad through the Bluetooth channel, but the slight delay bugged me when playing sounds. Not a dealbreaker, but it was part of my ultimate decision. In the end, I didn’t find enough separation between this and the P4 and have opted to return the Vocaster. I’ll give it 4 stars because I think this might be perfect for someone. If you need two inputs and want some processing present to just start your show, I don’t think you can go wrong with this. It just wasn’t *quite* there for me. ... show more

  • For one person, it almost replaces the Rodecaster Pro
Style: Vocaster Two
If you want to record anything on your computer and take phone calls using your mic & headphones, this will handle it. Compared to the Rodecaster Pro, you won't have built-in recording or the ability to use more than two mics, but for my purposes it was close enough I swapped out the Rodecaster Pro and reclaimed a ton of desk space. ... show more

  • Excellent way to simplify a one host show
Style: Vocaster One
There are lots of options when it comes to audio interfaces and I’ve own many of them! But this is the easiest and best sounding one, designed for just one mic, yet! I’m a fan of focusrite in general so take that for what you will. Highly recommend this to anyone in need of a solo setup.

  • Works great.
Style: Vocaster Two
Honestly have no idea why I own this thing. I upgraded from the Scarlett 2i2. I can see this device being nice for podcasters or even a streamer. Has a few different voice presets which are work nicely. A Bluetooth feature, for transmitting audio through the vocaster, which is interesting. I've not had the pleasure to really use but once. The person on the receiving end informed me the bluetooth audio came through with a bit of a static sound. Might be user error on my end since again I'm just an average Joe and have no idea why I own this device. This thing powers my Shure SM7B just fine as the device also has 48v phantom power and up to 70db of gain. Software is nice and easy to use, though I prefer to use the actual device to make most of my adjustments. Overall very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Great right out the box!
Style: Vocaster One
It's really great. I was nervous after seeing some reviews touting how it was really consumery. But I love it, paired with my sm7b it gets great sound with no fuss. Really worth it for the price

  • Out of the box the USB cable was defective
Style: Vocaster One
I bought this as a solution for using my Persons USB audiobox96 as my sound capturing solution. Prior to the pandemic, I was using the audiobox to capture guitars and vocals for at home demo recording. Then, covid hit and my number of zoom and google meet calls went through the roof (like a lot of people) and I used the audiobox for that too. The problem that I always had and the reason for buying this unit is the volume knob was out of the way and kind of inaccessible. This unit puts the knob on top which was the main draw. Also during the pandemic, like a lot of people, I got into podcasting and used GarageBand on my Apple computers to record the show with that audiobox. This product is focused at the non-tech savvy podcaster. Some YouTube reviews of this product also point out other products in the same price range like the Zoom P4. The P4 is a mixer and works okay for on the go recording, but where the Vocaster One shines is capturing vocal information through microphones and giving easy access to a large volume knob. I am not sold on this product however. For the price there are other solutions out there can do the same thing and maybe even better. For instance, the Shure MV7 microphone. This microphone is an audio interface and microphone all in the same unit. The housing on this unit is plastic, the buttons have an okay feel. The best part I would say is the ability to turn it off so it is only on when you need it. ... show more

  • No way to keep mic out of monitor mix without muting it for all outputs
Style: Vocaster Two
The fact that there's no way to keep your mic out of the monitor mix without muting it for all mixes was a show-stopper for me, since using your monitors results in a feedback loop. If podcasting with headphones is the *only* think you'll be doing with this device, then perhaps it is OK. A more general-purpose audio interface might suit you better, however. The Bluetooth patch to your smartphone is a nice feature. ... show more
