  • Perfect for my stream setup
Style: Vocaster One
It's a bit on the large size, but I realize that's because of the multiple inputs for various other things you can add besides a microphone. I LOVE the feel of the knob, and there's nothing quite like an easy, obvious mute button setup for streaming. The red light makes it VERY obvious so hopefully I'll never accidentally mute myself for 20 minutes while playing a game on stream every again. I very much appreciate the software, even though it lacks detail like what my mic gain value is, and an easy way to keep that stored as presets for various applications. But for what I use it for, that's not a huge issue, and eyeballing the gain is fine enough, especially as I use a lot of compression anyway. But if you are in need of very precise gain functions, you may not like this as you do not get to see those values in the current version of the software at the time of writing. I really like the enhancer as it gives more than just presets, it gives you some control over those presets. Nice for quick vocal adjustments. I would definitely suggest this to streamers with limited audio experience. It is very handy, and easy to use. While I do have extensive audio experience myself, I still find this quite a satisfying tool for the purpose I use it for. ... show more

  • Best bang for the buck mixer!

This mixer is really flying under the radar for gamers/streamers. Incredible value. Love the simplicity of the design and the vocaster program used to fine tune audio.

  • Great Device - Bad USB Cable
Style: Vocaster One
The device is a great addition to my PodMic setup. The One provides plenty of power with 70 amps. The software is decent, although I found it very restrictive. I'd like just a few more options to set a sound floor to eliminate typing noise, or a couple additional EQ options. In terms of simplicity, this device does it! Plugging everything in, installing the software and you're off and running. If you're just starting out podcasting, this is likely a bit too much of an investment, but if you're going to XLR from a USB mic and still don't want to spend thousands, this is it. There was a QC passed sticker that was included in the box. The USB cable was DOA and I thought at first the whole device was bad. I have plenty of USB cables these days, but still a pain to get under the computer desk over and over to troubleshoot. Not worth a return just for that, but still a pain. Other Thoughts: I recommend buying a longer USB cable for desktop setups. The cable provided is extremely short. The cable length will make it difficult to get the One away from your other cables. DO NOT put this device near a KVM, USB Hub, mouse & Keyboard USB cables, or any other powered cable. The interference will affect your sound, even on high end XLR cables. ... show more

  • Simple to get started
Style: Vocaster Two
I don't have a podcast yet, but I do have a pretty nice home office. I was previously using the Scarlett Solo as an audio interface, but it has a few shortcomings for my general use. First: I primarily use the microphone and headphones for the interface. The instrument interface is good to have for my guitar, but I don't play guitar as much as I work and game. Second: The Vocaster has a built in mute button. This is a game changer for doing virtual meetings. It can be a pain to set up different keystrokes to mute a zoom meeting, teams meeting, google meet, etc. and having a hardware mute button saves all of that hassle. However, the mute button is also something I see as a potential weakness of this device as it's a rubber covered button instead of a solid mechanical button. For a button that will see a lot of use, this seems like an oversight. Third: The Scarlett solo was obviously designed for a single person. I don't have external speakers so there would be issues when I would bring my spouse in to share something. Having a second audio input solves this issue. Forth: The gain levels seem to be more balanced with the Vocaster. I have a Rode Podmic and also have a Fethead to allow the Podmic to provide enough gain for me to comfortably chat with the Scarlett Solo. I no longer need the Fethead to receive the same volume levels. Bonus: Something I didn't have on the Scarlett that I got with the Vocaster 2 is the ability to link my phone to bluetooth. I am uncomfortable using a phone for voice calls, so this is a game changer for me. It seems small, but it's actually a very large thing as I can now hear people on the other end of the phone to make appointments easier and have no issues with phone calls with my long winded family members. ... show more
