Description

The Kapro 227 toolbox level is a 9" long spirit level with one level, one plumb, and one incline vial for determining horizontal and vertical plane as well as incline with a sensitivity of 0.001"/inch. The vials are made of injection-molded acrylic to resist breakage. A magnetic V-shaped groove along the base adheres to metal surfaces and provides reliable seating when leveling round items such as pipe, conduit, and shafts. The frame is molded plastic for light weight and has rubber end caps that absorb impacts to help protect the vials and frame. Levels are instruments that are used to determine the true horizontal or vertical plane of a surface. The most common type of level is the spirit level, or bubble level. Spirit levels have a liquid-filled, bowed tube (also called a vial) with a bubble that moves when slight adjustments are made to the level. When the bubble settles between marked points on the vial, it indicates that a surface is horizontally or vertically straight. Levels can have one or more vials to determine the horizontal plane, the vertical plane, or various points between, such as a 45-degree angle, simultaneously. Some levels include a laser line indicator that projects a horizontal or vertical beam on a surface. Bullseye levels, or surface levels, are circular, flat- bottomed spirit levels that determine whether a surface plane is level. Machinists’ levels are made of metal and have surfaces designed specifically for rugged use in a machine shop or tool room. Levels can range from highly- complex and accurate machines, such as those used in the surveying and construction industry, to precision instruments used in carpentry and other building trades, to simple, pocket-sized devices for do-it-yourself projects.Kapro manufactures spirit levels, laser levels, layout tools, and measuring tools. The company, founded in Israel in 1974, meets International Organization of Standardization (ISO) standards 9001, 14001, and SA8000.

    • This level really levels
I mean... when asked to rate its accuracy, how does one know unless one has a different level to check the level of the level... and then, which level is ACTUALLY level. My head hurts. Anyways... if its not accurate, everything in my house is probably slightly crooked (because I only have one level and this is it). Wanna know the solution to this problem? Wine... then everything looks a little crooked but its not or vice versa. Your welcome. *Conclusion... This level is magnetic and that is my favorite part... it lives on my fridge and my fridge is NOT level and it reminds me of that all the time.... so maybe it is accurate? I need more wine. ... show more

    • Just do it!
It's a level, it's well made, it's very affordable, and you can put it your back pocket. If that's not enough, it also has a magnetic strip on one side which means it's basically a third arm when you're trying to level something that is made of metal. All of that for the less than the price of a beer. Okay, an expensive beer, but still. If you're still reading this, your time is probably better spent just ordering one and then doing something else. ... show more

    • Junk
Sorry for being so harsh, maybe I just received another pre-broken item from Amazon but from reading reviews I think not. Having seen the other reviews that mentioned problems removing the tag, I used side-cutters to cut the tag. The rubber end of the level still fell off despite not being stressed when the tag was removed. The magnet lacks the strength to hold the level to the top of a horizontal pipe, let alone to a vertical surface. That said, instead of throwing it away I put it in my box of "loaner" tools, since I don't care what happens to them. Then I drove in to town and bought a functional level. ... show more

    • Great torpedo level
I Ordered & recieved 3, they are good, a good rubber end to avoid shock of dropping, one end was crooked so I pulled it out & siliconed it back in, winding string around, until the silicone dried. They have magnets to stick to a metal cabinete, One guy says that he knows that it is accurate, it has been telling him that his refrigerator was crooked forever. ... show more

    • Does what you expect it to..
Not a whole lot I can say about a level but here is my take: Well constructed should be able to take a fair amount of abuse, one side is magnetic which for my use is a big plus, one side is also slightly beveled in the center for ease of placement on pipes & such. has 3 vials for vertical, horizontal and angle measurements..For the price I recommend you but it it's a lower price than you'll find at the big stores..Hope this review Helped you out! ... show more

    • Perfect for leveling camper!
Sturdy, small enough to pack easily but not so small the level bubbles can't be seen, and their bright color makes them easy to locate when needed. They are very useful for leveling camping trailer. I bought two, so can see that the camper is level in both the length and the width. I recommend. Made well, and the heavier plastic use to construct makes me think they will last a long time. ... show more

    • Save your money AND BUY THIS LEVEL!!
I bought this as a gift for a senior who was graduating. I dont understand why a level is not a part of a basic tool kit, but it's not. So, I bought this one to go along with his tool kit. I got to inspect it and make sure it works before I handed it over to him. I think this little level is better than the one I have and I paid 3x as much for mine. ... show more

    • Great value for the price
Review Image by Occasional Amazon Reviewer
Needed a small leveler for putting up pictures and such. Nothing fancy, just wanted to see the accuracy of placement. Would recommend if you need it for the same reasons. It is a good tool for the price and to have in your home 👍
